Tribute bands - where the name is better than the band

Red Hot Chilli Pipers Elvis Herselvis Not a band, but gotta love the red-and-white-branded Ken’s Fried Chicken in Southsea. -
EMG JVX - drop in replacement for JAs?
nige1968 replied to Brother Jones's topic in Repairs and Technical
http://www.emgpickups.com/media/productfile/j/v/jvx_set_0230-0123rd.pdf Done this once or twice, the battery will fit under the bell plate without routing, just about. For my money the JV set is growlier than the JVX, if you can find them. -
Ibanez (アイバニーズ Aibanīzu). Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibanez EyeBan Eezoo. Love it.

Picked up a PRS SE baritone, which I’m finding pretty reasonable. Is the Jeff Beck strat a million billion pounds?
-
Scalpels. Same reason.

Thanks all for the comments -- oh well, at least I can go back to choosing guitars that look nice without having to worry about being able to play them.
-
I have massive hands, and so I play bass not guitar. I'd like to play guitar better, though. Is there a nice electric 6-stringer out there with wide neck & string spacing that I should consider trying out?

'Add It Up' or 'Never Tell' by Violent Femmes. Lots of Fugazi lines are interesting Dead Kennedys Holiday in Cambodia / TDTF / California Uber Alles Minor Threat by Minor Threat First Culture Shock album (great though not particularly heavy) 'Classic' era Motorhead 'Vengeance' by New Model Army ... ?

My mate has a Freshman which sounds very nice and didn't cost a fortune. They're even based in Scotland (though built overseas, obvs). http://www.freshmanguitars.net/about/

Warwicks are unlined by default, as was the Tony Franklin if you can find one. Old Japanese fretless Fenders come up from time to time too.

Good at playing, rubbish at selling ourselves

Surely bar staff need love too? -
Bought Simon's Bright Onion looper. Better service than your average shop, including quick despatch and tech support. The thing is exactly as described and in perfect condition/working order. Cheers!
-
Ilian bought a Zoom B3 effects box from me, all great and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks!
-
Simple Bright Onion looper has done the trick very nicely -- thanks again folks for the suggestions.

Thanks all.
As far as I know, there's no Behringer equivalent to the LS2. Happy to be corrected.
AB100 (Line/instrument selector), not exactly the same but in the same niche.
I'd say it's out of phase.
If that's my issue, and coincidentally both reverbs have the same issue, what's the most cost-effective way to address, do you reckon?
-
Thank you, yes simple wet or dry (though compressed) is it. So the simple bypass looper sounds like a solution -- any particular recommendations or otherwise?
-
Maybe? I'm using the Fender micro ABYs, though have also tried replacing the first one with Behringer's version of the LS2. Same issue, alas.
-
So I thought I was being very clever, and would stick multiple effects inside a loop created with two ABY pedals so I only have to use one footswitch to engage multiple effects. Problem I have is that when reverb is on, suddenly all the sound is sucked away somewhere, whether or not the effects part of the loop is engaged. At first I blamed the reverb pedal (Dr Green Bass Verb) and replaced it with a HoF, which ended up doing the same thing. So how do I remedy this in the simplest, cheapest way possible? Could do with not chucking any more money at the pedalboard right now. Here's the signal chain: Tuner -- Compressor -- ABY (Y->A or B ): 'A' goes straight to 'A' of second ABY (A and B -> Y). 'B' goes to overdrive, octaver, chorus, delay, reverb and into 'B' of second ABY. All are decent pedals (MXR, EHX, TC, Tech 21). Though the Stagg patch cables and Fender ABY boxes aren't the spendiest. I suck at this. Someone put me out of my misery?

// Has gone already, thanks all for your interest. This is the third bass multi-effects box I've had, and while it is undoubedly the best, I have decided I cannot get on with them. It has been out of the house exactly once and has mostly lived in its box. The footswitch, an optional extra costing about £30, has never been out of the box. For use as a wah/volume/expression pedal. But what does it do, you ask? This sort of thing. Specs:
Zoom B3 Bass FX Pedal - multi-FX for bass, 111 effect types, 3 effects simultaneous, 10 patches at 10 banks, built in tuner, 24 bit A/D and D/A conversion, 128times over-sampling, 44,1 kHz sampling frequency, 20Hz - 20 kHz frequency range, LCD Display, stereo output, headphone out, balanced XLR output, pre/post (switch selectable), ground lift (switch selectable), control input for optional FP02/FS01, USB audio interface (16bit/44,1 kHz), supported OS: Windows XP / Vista / 7, Mac OS X v10.4 / 10.5 / 10.6 / 10.7 (USB powered), incl power supply (or power by optional 4 x AA/LR6 batteries for app. 6 hours use), incl. Cubase LE8 (for Mac OS X 10.9/10.10 and Windows 7/8/8.1), dimensions whd: 234 x 54 x 170 mm, weight: 1,2 kg
Product page: https://www.zoom.co....simulator-pedal So the buyer will receive a boxed, as-new Zoom B3 complete with 500mA power supply and said footswitch. Pedal has been put back to factory settings so you don't even have to push the button. There is not a mark on the pedal and I've never installed the included Cubase licence / download -- remind me and I'll bung it, along with the manual, on to Dropbox. These are retailing for around £125 - £135 at present, plus £30 - £35 for the footswitch, plus postage. I'm asking £100 delivered. Just spent a million pounds on a load of stompboxes and a pedaltrain so I'm really only after £££££££s to save myself from destitution. No overseas postage, sorry. Pics to follow.
