1. @Gank Bass Good morning. Yes, this is still available and looking for a new home.
2. @King Tut I’ve done the scientific weigh myself three times, weigh me and the bass three times, and then take the average difference between the two, and the bass weighs 4.4kg (or 9.7lbs for those who prefer old money).
3. I’m in the office at the moment, so I’ll give it a weigh when I get home this evening.
4. The Thomann website states 19mm. Here’s a photo I’ve just taken if it helps. In all my 30 years of playing bass, I’ve never once thought about this particular measurement! 😆
5. For sale: a five-string Harley Benton MB-5 SBK Deluxe Series, purchased about a year ago when I decided to try my hand at five-string basses. The plan was that if I got along with it, I'd eventually upgrade to a long-term, higher-end model. Now that I’ve moved on to a five-string Sire Precision - and have developed the inevitable itch for the four-string version of the Sire - my Director of Finance (a.k.a. the wife) has ruled that one bass must go before another can come in. Hence the sale! The bass has never left my smoke-free home and is in near-mint condition, with only a couple of very minor marks on the back of the neck from a guitar stand (see relevant image). Strings have been replaced with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 45-130. Pickup from the Lincoln area, though I can also arrange pickup in Milton Keynes, as my wife occasionally works on campus at the Open University. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.
6. A couple of weeks ago there was talk of a bass bash happening in Lincoln sometime. Does anyone know if anything has come of it? Rick
7. +1 to the Yellowbelly Bass Bash
8. Welcome from yet another Lincolner!

Just bought Martin's Hartke LH-500 bass amp. He was a pleasure to deal with - good communication, and super speedy delivery ... Oh, and a great amp, too!

12. Hi Mike Does the LH500 come with an output for Speakon? Rick
13.
An ebow with a bass or are the strings just too damn chunky?
Ha ha - I read elbow instead of ebow. It's still too early for me ...
14.
TBH band chemistry is WAY more important than skills.
+1,000,000 I'm more looking forward to the backstage banter rather than the actual playing for this Saturday's gig! In my opinion, this playing music palaver just gets in the way...
15. My 1996 Fender Mexican Jazz bass in red has the one-piece control/scratch plate. It used to have the strat-style knobs, but I changed them to the more traditional jazz style ones. I looked at replacing the scratch plate, but unfortunately, as you said the screws are in the 'wrong' position. It's just a pity I found this out after purchasing my replacement parts...
16.
Thanks for the info Buzz. As I said, trying one is going to be a real problem. Lincolnshire has to be one of the worst counties in England for music shops
Amen to that!
17.
I'd make a 'producer placebo box' using bits from maplin. - aluminium box, pots, footswitch, jack sockets etc. The input will be connected directly to the output and there'd be at least one footswitch and pot not connected to anything. Go crazy with painting it and give it a suitably funky name. With that on your board, anytime a bandmate asks you to make a change to your sound (including a request to turn the volume down) you'll have some controls to adjust to make them happy without actually messing up your sound.
Genius! I like it.
18. Hi all My nice new Eden head has a 'tuner output' jack. I've never used one before, and not being at home at the moment, I can't experiment with it to find out how it works. So...to satisfy my curiosity, does anyone know how I would connect my tuner (Boss TU-2) to the amp via this jack? Also, are there any advantages to hooking the tuner up this way compared to the standard 'bass -> tuner -> effects -> amp'? Many thanks Rick
19. I've got a feeling they've got the '4' and the '3' the wrong way round...
20. Continuing the thread on Jamerson, has anyone been lucky enough to be sent the password to the isolated Motown bass tracks on the site below? Isolated Motown Bass Tracks I've contacted the site owner in the past, requesting the user name / password, but I have received no reply so far.

22. Thanks for organising, BB. It was a good day, and nice to put a few faces to names. I think the star of the show had to be that blue effects unit (BigRedX's) - everyone literally stopped what they were doing once that drum beat kicked in! Thankfully, I didn't get the Rickenbacker GAS attack that now seems to be going round...
