1.
If that's the price of restoring harmonious discourse on TB, perhaps that would be the best idea. Ship it to my house and I'll put it on the bonfire. No need to thank me.
i think youll find ive already negotiated a straight swap wth my blue squier J
 2.
Although I love the original, this version is nice and groove-laden too.
+1 for PJJr
 3.
If it had been anywhere other than RS's. I'd've been all over this the day they went a sale. I dislike the venue intently so I passed. My drummer is going though so now I feel a bit daft for not putting up with the cramped, overpriced cave Have a great time all of you who are going TOP are bound to deliver.
less cramped than an old cinema/theatre style venue - especially if you get a ticket on one of the centre tables loads of room to stretch your legs ! ive seen george duke twice at RS - first time was back in the 'cramped bit' at the sides so second time i paid the extra for the top price ticket - i like specifically that if you get there early at front of queue they give you a good table - i wasnt right at the front of queue but was still lucky enough to get a centre table directly at the edge of the stage directly in front of the man himself - given the price of tickets at other larger less personal venues i dont think the 48 quid for this gig was at all unreasonable
 4.
Guys sorry there has been some new developments in this crazy adventure and I really can't get into it at the moment until I see where it is going to go, Turns out one of the members at TB did decide to contact the family, so I am trying to see where things are going to go and then I will come back and post again. So far so good I have talked to the daughter twice and it seems everything wil have a happy ending for all parties involved. I will update asap.
fantastic news - hopefully the family will give the informant a piece of their mind too - maybe you could even persuade the daughter to join basschat and gives us a posting when she hears about our genuine interest that this superb instrument is back out there making music again
 5.
So, this place has a bad reputation, you were verbally and physically abused, you were threatened with a stabbing in the eye, you received further abuse, you were intimidated on stage... You really should be naming this place.
+1 ... and being the unfortunate cynic that i am i would go even further as to speculate that 'if' anything untoward had happened then the licensee of said premises would have had no involvement or concern whatsoever both for not wanting to upset the local meatheads and secondly if police get involved it all gets logged and fed back to the licensing authorities (which will directly affect the licensee)
 6. love the change at 2:05
 7.
I think in the future we are going to pay for coddling our children in such a manner.
methinks the future is now !

 10.
I prefer the term bass playing stallion, of course
im stealing that for my profile name
 11.
In terms of adding weight, is it not best to do that to the strap rather than the bass - with some skill, it would be possible to sew the additional weights into the strap.
what are you some sort of bass playing race horse!!
 12.
So Shuker would make the list, along with similar ilk? I agree.
apologies to OP didnt mean to hijack the original thread - might go start another one on this subject
 13. for shame no status ! on a more serious semantic note though , you say 893 'brands' - just wondering how many other basschatters would include luthiers as brands? i dont doubt they should all be included somehow but my general idea of brand would be Status, Wal, Vox, Shergold, Hayman etc. We have some great luthiers in this country but i would speculate as to how many luthiers would self identify as a brand? as usual there are exceptions and one springs to mind - the late mr tony zemaitis - is arguable that he as an individual was a brand, long before his son set up the japanese zemaitis custom shop

 21.
Looks good (the furniture as well as the redhead) but ... most equipment that you could want to put on the shelf bit will have festoons of cabling, and I could imagine the weight of it being too much for the hinges
adapt and improvise
