Another Jack Bruce transcription, this one is the tune 'Boston Ball Game 1967' from the 1969 'Songs For A Tailor' album. A one bar riff in 12:8 that goes up a fourth and then resolves with a bar of 3:4. Not hard to play but hard to interpret initially. That's a monster chart and a phenomenal amount of work. By a strange coincidence, I am currently working on an AJ transcription (Alien Chase on an Arabian Desert). Sometimes. There are many ways to make music and preparation takes many forms. Playing Jazz means you are NEVER able plan every note in advance, unless you want to look like a clown. As for playing a solo, I always just make it up as I go along.

Flim has played some nice solos over the years but he really excels in the accompanying role. Check of the first three Wayne Johnson Trio albums (Arrowhead, Grasshopper and Everybody's Painting Pictures'). Great tone but really creative playing.

The bass part for the tune 'Hereafter' from the 1980 recording, 'Dregs Of The Earth'. Not too difficult to play but there are a few tricky bits (bars of 9:8 with three against two crotchets etc).
