1.
Now need a chorus and the bravery (foolishness) to sing/talk!
I've got a Shure PG48 mic on order and will be picking it up at the weekend... eek! I'll need some of your bravery/foolishness for this I think.
2. I'm in for this one! It's been a while as I've been busy with my band but I've put something down that just needs tidied up. I think it was in me and was desperate to get out for a while as I got it down in a day It's snuck past the 5 min mark though and is 5:26 so far. How strict are we with this? I think I could cut it down... (if I remove all the bum notes I'd have it down to 0:26 hehe).
Miroslav Philharmonik calls!!!
And it has some Miroslav in it (As an aside, I need to fix a weird bug with Miroslav in Reaper. The Miroslav track sometimes cuts out the sound or leaves a note playing all through the track. It changes each time I play it... weird!)
3. Ah nice one, cheers! And they feature my DAW of choice: Reaper - http://www.soundonsound.com/reaper Happy days.
4. I can't add to what 51m0n has told you but just wanted to say I love your music, very chilled out and a little different to a lot of stuff out there.
5. I've always liked the look of Bongos Nice colour too!
6. Voted And er, bump I guess!
7. The entries just get better and better each month! Huge congratulations to everyone, I found it hard to choose just one this month. It was between two in the end for me and after listening to them both I've chosen one (and favourited the other on Soundcloud). As Paul says, it's about taking part so well done all. This has been an enjoyable evening listening to this lot. I hope to join in again soon but I'm having much fun with my new band at the moment
8. I asked a similar question a while ago that recommended some good 'uns: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/196569-notation-software-advice-what-would-you-recommend/
9. Really hope this happens, good luck with getting in touch with Steve/Iron Maiden.
10.
I don't get it, sorry, am I being daft?
It's a popular meme amongst those who play a certain massively multiplayer online role-playing game
11.
LEEEEEEROY JENKINS
I get it At least I'm not chicken!
12. I see John Hall alienating the 2nd largest online bass player community in the world whilst the likes of Garey from Warwick and the guys from Overwater (and I'm sure many others) come on here to answer questions and give help and advice and listen to us. I know where my money's going.
13.
http://www.flickr.co...ill/7610407178/
And that is what a humpback whale sounds like when playing bass.
14. Listened and voted I went for the one where the guitar licks just really jangled for me with some nice stereo placement.
15.
Hook up the alarm to your bass amp.
You'd think that my neighbours would be nice and quiet having seen me move in and carry an Ashdown 2x12 stack, Laney practice amp, 6 basses, 2 lead guitars, a midi keyboard, a pair of Tannoy E11s and hi-fi and and a pair of studio monitors into the flat.
16. You should tell the lovely Kit to come to Bristol mate
17. Cheers guys, I'll grab myself some foam ones and see how it goes with my alarm!
18. Some great info in here and not wanting to start another thread, I hope you don't mind if I go a little off-topic! Long story short: I have noisy upstairs neighbours who works shifts so come in and thump around between 11pm and 3am. Short-term solution until I sort it out with the landlord will be ear plugs so that I can sleep Will any of the ones mentioned above help me out with this? (And would double up as protection at loud gigs of course.) They'd need to be safe and comfortable to sleep in, and hearing my alarm (my phone, placed next to my pillow) would be a bonus! The Noizezz ones appeal as they come with different sizes, but I also like the idea of being able to choose which filter to use on the Alpine Music Safe ones.
19. Nicely timed thread, I just bought a hat for playing bass on stage in!
20.
So dear bass chatters, today, 10 and a half months after picking up a bass, I have performed infront of a real life audience!!!
Awesome
21. Got this 6 weeks ago but I've been moving house and have been very busy recently so not had a chance to show it off. It's an Overwater Classic J (Tanglewood-made) in CAR and is lovely. Needs some stuff done to it, I'm putting flats on it soon with a heavier gauge than what it's got so it will need a good set up. Also thinking about upgrading the pups. But I'm loving the passive P sound from it (it's the J that needs a bit more beef) as it's so different from my actives. Here it is next to my Ashdown rig:
22. Yay ice cream! Are the new pics here yet? Are the new...
23. I have the exact same bass as you Bisonkills and also the same problem of the J being much much quieter than the P. My other basses are like this too (as the J never matches the P for volume on any bass) but with the Classic J bass the difference in volume is far greater than any of my other basses. So I was thinking about replacing the J or both pickups but want to keep the classic P sound. Let me know what you do and how works out as I may well follow suit. Or if I find a good solution I'll let you know too! I did lower the P a bit (well, it's almost completely sunk into the body) and raised the J (which is now almost touching the strings) and it's evened it out to the same volume difference as my other basses but it really shouldn't need this extreme positioning to get it working that way IMO.
