1. Could not speak to the guy I deal with today so I will try again tomorrow.
2. You would have thoughts so. I will call them later today and get back to you.
3. I will have a word with them and see if the situation has changed which might allow me to sell to a wider audience. I have tried in the past to get the UK dealership for the bass strings but they need someone who can go round shops pushing the strings and also deal with the guitar strings as well.
4. Here is a link to the instructions for the pre-amp. instructions
5. The FB soapbars are voiced along the lines of Jazz type pickup so there is a similarity between the two. The single coils to me have a more aggressive top end on them and a slightly different bottom end.
6.
As for Kent living in the USA, yes he lives there now, but in thf 80's hd lived in the UK! when he returned to the states, his son Aaron took over the UK pickup builds under the Wizard operation.
Aaron still builds pickups under Kent Armstrong and Son. Wizard pickups is another guy Andy I think.

ACG basses

Hi As with all wood it depends on the piece you use to build the bass. In general the Alder is pretty light with the odd heavier piece and most of the tops I tend to use on the graft basses are on the light side as well. Alan
8. Sorry. That should have been are you sure a spalted board is a good idea for a neck. Spalt wood is not really known for being structural sound.
9. Hi Are you a spalted board is a good idea for a neck.
10. Good to see finally made it over here. Alan
11.
Aww Man, I wish I had a customer like you - seven basses from the same custom builder??? I wish....
Believe me Scoop is very much appreciated. One of the plusses of this business is that I have met quiet a few guys who started off as customers but I would now like to think of them as friends, Scoop is firmly in that category.
12. This is a very good buy a good £700 below the price new. The hardware alone is worth the price.
13. Haydn is a seriously skilled builder and certainly merits the title luthier. He is also a very nice guy. So if you are in the market for a top quality guitar he should be top of your list. Alan
14. I have a couple of basses coming up with 4 pickups in them. My RFS triple coil is two pickups in the one casing. A wide aperture humbucker with a single coil in between the humbucker coils. It is used in conjunction with a 3 way switch which gives you the following. Humbucker single coil or humbucker or a triple coil. I have two basses with two of these pickups in them.
15. The passive tone works directly on the pickups before the signal goes in to the active sections. In effect it works the same as a tone control in a passive bass.

Moffat Bass Bash 4

The Moffat Bass Bash saw the first showing of the prototype filter pedal. We were looking for some feedback on the pedal and thanks to those that helped out with this. Thanks to John East for putting it together for the Bash and to Paul Sugden for sorting out the graphics. Still work to be done regarding the feature set and some fine tuning for the graphics but all going in the right direction.
17. Excellent weekend. Much beer quaffed currie chomped and good time had. Thanks to everyone that was there for making it all a very good weekend. Big thanks to Dave Perry for his help sorting it all out. Some pics. Not very many taken right at the start of the day after that I had much more interesting things to do.
18.
I think that Hiscox hardcase, that my custom ACG bass came in, wasn't even 'sticky taped' at all, not to mention that bass lied loose in the case, as a result, bass was damaged, thank god, it wasn't neck or body, but preamp knob, but ACG pre's aren't the cheapest, right..
Hi I would just like to point out that the ACG bass was not sent by AC Guitars it was bought second hand. I take as much care as possible to make sure the basses I send out arrive in the same condition I send them out in. Cheers Alan
