Reluctantly selling my American G&L 2000. Fantastic bass. Has the #12 neck, like a modern P, which feels perfect to me. (I've had Tributes in the past and always found them to be a bit too chunky). Great range of tones, but if you know about the L2000 then you know that already. Bass is in excellent condition - rarely gigged and only very light surface scratches below the strings. No buckle marks on the back. Finish is like glass! Only changes from stock are the addition of Dunlop strap locks and I had to have the nut replaced. (I popped it when I put nylon tapewounds on it). It now has a nut installed by Chris McIntyre (have a look at his basses online if you haven't already. Stunning. I have one). Not too sure what he uses - something and aluminium - but it's what he normally puts on his own basses, so no problem with quality. Strung with Cobalt flats at the moment. Comes with the original case (it's a tiny bit scuffed in places, but almost ever used) plus certificate / spec sheet etc. This is a great price for a classic, premium (and hugely underrated) USA made bass. I'll be sorry to see it go as I love the feel of it - neck and body shape, and it balances perfectly on a strap - but I only seem to be using my P basses these days so someone should get to play it. In Edinburgh, pickup ideal, but can ship at cost.

Great bass head. Lots of clean power, totally reliable. I've had it from new for about 6 years and it's been rock solid. Just fancy trying something different. Will sell with a good quality Gator bag (see pic). You can see from the pics too that the outer casing is a bit scuffed here and there, just from going in and out of the bag, pedals sitting on top of it etc, but other than that it's in really good condition. Price reduced to £300.

Nice, German-made pickups, which came on the Maruszczyk Jake I bought on here last year. They're totally fine, I just felt like trying something different on the bass. According https://haeussel.com/, P pickup is 130 Euro, A J is 86 Euro, so that's 216 Euro, which is about £186. Only really want to sell as a pair as very unlikely to be able to shift the J on its own. I’m told too that the J is a split coil, so is hum cancelling. In Edinburgh, happy to post.

I was just doing a bit of a search on these too. You don’t see them pop up at all really. Would love to find a second hand one....

No, all interesting stuff @Andyjr1515, cheers. Maybe that strap button extension thing would make a difference, getting it further into that Goldilocks zone! I should say too, that one’s in Edinburgh because I asked them to get it up from one of their stores down south.... Now, if someone would just post one second hand.....

I saw this on another forum, but not sure if it’d make much difference. Plus it might look a bit daft!

I have. 🙂. I like it. Lovely neck to play, interesting tones out of it (although I’d prefer master volume and blend to 2 volumes) BUT yes, it’s a tad neck heavy. Better than any other semi I’ve tried though. It seems to have Hipshot licensed tuners so i don’t know if genuine USA Hipshot would help a bit. Possibly clutching at straws there. 🙂 It’s not cheap either obv.

Just reviving this question in case anyone has any thoughts about the Lakland or any other semi I should look at.

Yeah, I'm sure Chris could sort it out easy enough. (That's one of Chris' own basses in my profile pic btw, if you didn't spot it). I guess though resale value of either will be less if they're sold with the neck of the other (if you know what I mean!). I tend to play the L2000 passive. I tried an ASAT once but found the body shape a bit odd (and a bit too much neck dive), but the L2000 body is great. (Oddly, I see my #12 neck has a 12" radius as opposed to your 7.5". I assumed the radius was fixed for each neck). How does the JB2 compare to your JB btw?

The LB100 looks great fretless. I saw a black Tony Franklin fretless last weekend and I had a similar GAS attack. 🙂 I’ve always been quite curious about the JB2. I have an L2000 with the 1 5/8 neck and it’s great to play (although the tone can be a bit too distinctive sometimes). Will keep and eye out for what you do regarding selling it (and the neck). I’ve no money of course. If I did, I’d be inclined to put your LB100 maple neck on my L2000 and the L2000’s rosewood/black headstock neck onto the JB2. I can dream.....

Nordstrand's excellent Music Man Stingray replacement/upgrade pickup. They say same spec as Ernie Ball 70s Stingray pickup, less clanky than the modern ones. More here: https://nordstrandaudio.com/products/mm4-2-dual-coil I have one in my 2001 Stingray - definitely an upgrade on the original. (I seem to have misplaced one of the screws but I guess you can probably use the ones in your original pickup if you're upgrading. If not, I can try to get one from my tech for you). Retails at £100. Price includes P&P.
