  1. Last night I used the Behringer AD-I as recommended on this very forum. Better. Better than the BD-I, which itself sounded fantastic. This is more flexible, and more brown. Mmmm, brown notes.
  2. Rewind to my life ten years ago and I had accepted that my gigging life was over. I hadn't been in a band for ages, had no contacts, failed to find anyone or anything I could join with. Time to accept that part of my life was over. Life threw me a curve ball, everything turned upside down. Without boring you with the details I scored a dep gig. From that everything snowballed and now I gig between two and four times a week every week. You simply never know.
  3. Monthly Bandeoke residency on Sunday night. Desperately quiet. I wonder they keep booking us. We have a weekly residency elsewhere on Sundays so end up sending a different crew to cover it when the dates clash. Hoping we can move the night for the monthly one. Thoroughly enjoyed playing though, some fun improvisations and more songs added to the repertoire.
  4. XLR out?
  5. Just received my ADI-21. Quick blast through the controls and it's a sweet pedal. The sweepable mids are worth the entrance fee on their own! Great recommendation, thank you
  6. For anyone interested here is the board
  7. That's my Russian board complete. Unless the sanctions end and I can buy a longer one. Which I would do if they produced an octave pedal. For those not familiar, the board has all the power and audio connections built in. Also bolts to attach the pedals. So it's compact, tidy, and just really neat. I love innovative ideas, and this one is perfectly conceived and executed. And their pedal range includes bass specific designs. However I may have exhausted what was left of their UK stock, so good luck finding them 😬
  8. Yeah and you would have taken the money I've been saving for my MOT and car insurance. Without hesitation...
  9. What @MichaelDean said. It sounds like a Thunderbird but in a smaller, lighter package
  10. Busy Bandeoke in Bristol last night.
  11. Thank you man. Subscribed!
  12. Hey Kate, we all missed you at the Bass Bash. Thank goodness I didn't get to play this little beauty though. You'd have been taking my money again 😂
  13. Learning songs for upcoming rehearsals and this is on the list. I know all the others but hadn't heard this before. Unashamedly derivative of Robert Nesta, but a nice tune nonetheless
  14. That's a beautiful bass. They sound fabulous too.
  15. That's what I'm talking about! You understand the pain and the catharsis of loud musical swearing!
  16. For some people it is. For me it is not. I'm under no illusion about my future but I can't live then, I can only live today. I've wasted enough years of my life in jobs I detested thank you very much. Now I'm earning what little I get on my terms. The mental health benefits alone make it worthwhile.
  17. I want 4 gigs a week minimum. I don't always get that though. I'm in (or am 1st dep for) 7 bands and yet I mostly only get 3 a week. I seldom ever get paid enough. However I don't go to a 'job' 5 days a week, so I'm still winning.
  18. I played the Digbeth amp at the SW Bass Bash and it sounds really really good. That vertically designed cab looks great too
  19. I've started a new health regime on the recommendations of a vicious, malicious and entirely disingenuous 'friend' who recommended a daily cold shower to blow away the effects of my chronic fatigue. It's appalling. Absolutely hellish. However, it works so I don't want to stop doing it. But I hate it. So today I hit on a new plan. Play a raucous sing a long tune while I'm in there, really loud, and hopefully distracting. It did the job. Admirably. I went for California Uber Alles by the Dead Kennedys. And it was sufficiently uplifting and helped purge me of all the appropriate emotions. Not too long either! What would you choose?
  20. Sunday's board looked like this The combination of the Pulp n Peel at the start and the BDI 21 at the end before the power amp was exquisite. The FI did multiple jobs from synth bass, to wah, through octaves and all points in between. A small sweet board. The chorus is the best I've tried, the Death Saw well named. I tamed it with a clean blend courtesy of the LS-2.
  21. Hi P. Intrigued by this I have popped one in my basket. I note the presence of a 'blend' control. What does this do? There's no drive, so what is being blended?
  22. Simple for Leonardo....not for a sausage fingered baboon like me though
  23. I've asked Affordaboard and he's in touch with DFX about the Tone Hammer clone. Hopefully we'll have some pricing information soon.
  24. The Tri Parallel Mixer is a superb pedal. So many options, really well designed. Can't comment on the OBN as I've not tried it.
  25. All I can say is it sat beautifully in the mix, when I dug in it really snarled, when I played gently it was so smooth.
