  1. Love this. Regret selling my Yamaha. But this is way nicer.
  2. It has many possibilities - and everything sounds amazing. But I'll always wish for more 🤷🏻‍♂️ Mr Black Gilamondo its a phaser. Best I've ever used.
  3. I like this a lot. I have just traded my Stomp for a Helix FX, looking forward to it arriving soon
  4. My board has changed again 🤦🏼‍♂️ This is fun
  5. They are really nice actually. Feel like strings, nothing weird or unusual and they're bright without being thin and rattly, but fat enough for me. Look sweet too
  6. Test kits available free delivered NHS online. Easy for everyone attending to test themselves that morning before setting out.
  7. I am driving from near Bath to Rainham in Kent some time later this month. I'll be there a couple of days then driving back. If I can be of help to anyone out East either sending or receiving a bass let me know. Happy to drive somewhere from Rainham as I'll be twiddling my thumbs up there.
  8. So excited for this event. I'm bringing a bass student who is that remarkable and rare phenomenon - a singer who helps carry gear, brings and sets up the pa. I've known her for a few years and I still can't get over this fact.
  9. Always an honour to be able to open a new feedback thread. Bought a couple of pedals from @WPW and they arrived looking brand spanking new. I somehow convinced myself there might be an impending problem when I hadn't received them in two days, but that was me panicking unnecessarily. Everything in fact went as smoothly as any other Basschat transaction and I feel very foolish for getting jittery. Buy with confidence from this Basschatter.
  10. The video is standard practice with Thomann. I've only needed to get two things replaced over the years, quick video clip with my phone and they posted a replacement. There was a third time when they suggested that the pickguard wasn't scratched, I in fact hadn't removed the second plastic protector. They were right. I still love Thomann.
  11. Thanks man, ordered a set for my black stealth bass
  12. I can't remember what we're talking about
  13. I am happy to geek out within limits! However since developing chronic fatigue my ability to concentrate and learn has been severely diminished. I can spend 20 minutes trying to learn a new thing, retain nothing and the effort expended in doing so can put me in bed for a couple of days. It's not always that bad but it often is. So I'm afraid you won't learn much from following my lead.
  14. Ha! I have had a little play and it's different with different pedals, as you say it all depends on what you are looking for.
  15. I suspected as much from my searching. Thank you.
  16. Hi tech heads and fellow luddites. I have a simple midi controller. Can it be used with this pedal? I wish to scroll up and down through presets. This is it
  17. Missed this post. So: Bass > comp > octave > envelope? Doesn't the envelope need to be sensitive to the strength of your pluck? I wonder if the compressor compromises this? Of course I could just connect up the pedals and try it 🤷🏻‍♂️ But it's easier to lay around asking you
  18. So I now have the C4 and the SY-1. First impressions are that the C4 takes up less space than the FI (in its original case) but I'll have just as steep a learning curve with the software. FI wins with regard to having proper midi in/out, C4 wins with simplicity of 'on the fly' controls to change essential parameters live. FI wins with the ability to scroll through the patches with a footswitch as opposed to the C4 requiring fiddly finger fiddling. SY-1 beats them both for straight out of the box simplicity. Plug in and move through a host of presets with ultra responsive simple controls to dial the sound you want. Tracking, and sound quality is great on all three, but don't be put off if you've used the old Boss synth pedals, this one is the real deal. Every single sound is entirely customisable and perfectly usable. The Boss is straight onto the board and ready to be gigged, the C4 has to be on and off for programming and almost certainly won't be 'right' when used with a band (it's never the same in the mix) however unlike the FI I will be able to tweak the basic parameters. Time will tell, but the SY-1 is winning right now.
