    Anyone tried one of these?
  3. I have gigged through the TCE 2x8 and am happy to confirm it is a very capable little cab. I only used it for smaller gigs initially, but got caught out once when the venue was way bigger than I had been led to believe. It was only powered by a 250 watt class D head so effectively 125 watts in a 7 piece band - and it coped.
  4. Those looking askance at bulky adaptors, a possible solution is an international multi socket. Looks like a normal 4 gang but accepts US plugs.
  5. I'd say it all depends on the venue. I ran a music venue for 13 years and we never had covers bands apart from one or two exceptional outfits who chose really well and were astonishing musicians. The punters turned up to see something interesting and above all original.
  6. I like to run a fuzz and filter parallel to one another with a bit of clean retained.
  7. This looks rather nice to my eye 30" just over 200 notes.
  8. I didn't realise it was on wheels too!
  9. Two words: pilot holes

  11. I'd have it if I had the money. Suspect by the time I sell enough stuff it'll be long gone.
  12. If I'm there let Mike know. I tried to pick the balding, bespectacled gentleman of a certain age and comfortable figure, which looks most like me but there was just too much choice
  13. I want this. Make, model and finish. Oh my God.

  15. Just to say, I doubt there's a better bass anywhere for £75

I had looked at the HB but remembering the bad experience Ped said he'd had I backed off. However it is worth saying that one man's too much noise is another man's perfectly acceptable level of noise. I can't comment from personal experience as I have never played through one.

  18. My locking jack sockets have arrived. Need to get to Next for the pink hair band.
  19. My view of Zed Zed Top was tainted by discovering them in their 'pop' phase. A guitarist I was in a jam band with prior to lockdown introduced me to their early stuff. The film on Netflix further informed me as to their credentials. Great band, very sad news.
  20. I thought I would pick up a set. Six hundred quid! Ay carumba! Maybe not.

I am using the Studiospares one at the moment. I like the shape function (a bit Trace Ellioty) the gain overload light, the different ins and outs but most of all the effects loop. Oh and the price!
  22. Yep. Play it slowly - as slowly as you need to to play it properly. Don't play along in time, to a metronome or the tune. in fact don't worry about timing at all until you have the notes and fingerings right. If you slow down on a difficult part that's fine, it's more important to practice it properly than to repeatedly play some parts incorrectly because it's too fast. And enjoy the process of learning, don't worry about nailing the whole song, that will come naturally in time.
  23. Mine will get an airing at the next rehearsal.

@gafbass02 that looks like a really good piece of kit. Does a lot more than just a preamp.
