That's a really, really tidy job @AJ567. If my gigging board is ever actually finished for good I will have to attend to a good spring clean, neaten wiring and so on. What is the function and benefits of the gigrig boxes?

It's interesting to hear him say how common it was to claim to have played on those uncredited sessions. People did it just to get the work. Carol on the other hand, well, memory can play tricks as we get older.

The 500w head does look interesting. Historically I haven't had the best experience with Laney. That's because I moved from a Trace Elliot combo to a similarly spec'd Laney one and, well, you know, Trace Watts and all that. But that's a singular situation and many years ago - I don't use it to measure the entire brand.

Yep. People often overlook this. I know I did. I'd all but written a bass off until I removed my 'favourite' strings and tried a random set. Not all basses like the same bits of wire.

I really dislike big venues. Went to Cardiff to see a band once and had no sense of interaction with them. A cattle shed near Exeter was similarly unpleasant. I am happiest if, when I employ my sparkling wit, and yell at the stage, the audience and the band can all hear what I have to say. -

Hey there's an Orange head in the for sale section. Not a terror but 500w, simple controls, rack mounted and 200 quid cheaper than a new terror. EDIT :There's a 500w Terror just down the road from you!

If you're one of those anti-shapers you've no right to be using Ashdown anyway. (joking) I usually dampen my positive reviews with 'in my opinion'. However I don't feel the need with this little beauty. I feel the reduction ftom 1000 to 500w will actually be beneficial, I could never drive mine hard enough..

I used to play through the Orange Terror 1000w. Possibly the best sound I have ever had, why I sold it, I cannot explain. Through BF compacts or two MB NY115's the only issue I ever had was keeping the volume down low enough! Incredibly loud, very simple controls, you can't go wrong.
