  1. I have it! I love it. I'm getting another one done.
  2. Finally getting my hands on this bass! Tomorrow after work.
  3. I have rationalised my obsessive behaviour by the following rule. If all other basses left me would I be content to play just this one forever? If yes, keep it, if no, move it on. Even sticking to this I have something like 30 basses. Once you start it's really hard to stop.
  4. What a beautifully presented advert. I want to buy them all! Let's see what is left come pay day.
  5. All the west country rooms have been well kitted out with sanitiser and notices everywhere, bring your own mics etc EDIT all the ones I've used!
  6. I love passionate discussion of music. I haven't even listened to any of it and with only one exception everyone here has really put their case well. Off to have a listen to see who is right and who is wrong!
  7. This is exactly the point. Buy British campaigns are pretty meaningless when the products sold here are not made here and when in any case they simply don't sell anything like HB. No one in the world that I know of sells such consistently high quality and variety at basically pocket money prices.
  8. Ha! Thanks. The mixer allows me to keep a clean signal and mix it with distortion and/or one or both envelope filters. The rest is just tuner, tone and compression.
  9. Yeah first time I saw them was supporting Elvis Costello in Bristol and they were weird but awesome!
  10. I struggled to enjoy the Pogues ever since a Paddy's night gig many moons ago. It was 50% Shane McGowan's indifference to his paying public, and 50% the inexplicable adulation of the crowd. Thankfully I've grown up since then and can enjoy the music again - but I would not pay to watch the sad alcoholic public decline of any great artist. Never again.
  11. In and around Bath and Bristol all are open, social distancing and masks in communal areas. In Bath tonight with the soul band and like an oaf I got all excited about the 2 envelope filters together and forgot I use a phaser an octave and a Freeze pedal. Or putting it another way, I took the wrong board 🤦🏼‍♂️
  12. Another day another rehearsal, with another band ... which means... Another Pedal Board! Going for the two envelope filters this time.
  13. Dayum! Had one just like this and sold it. Fool that I am. GLWTS, this is a great instrument.
  14. I enjoyed that rehearsal very much. Really splendid to lock in with a real life drummer and just sit in that pocket for a few hours. The one thing I did wrong was to spend the weeks leading up to the practice playing a bass with a couple less frets than the one I took to rehearse with today. Spend the first few songs playing the occasional not sharp through not reaching quite far enough left. Once into it all was splendid though. Elf into BF Midget is a wonderful recipe for success.
  15. An absolute dream of a bass. Plays itself, light, and sounds lovely, with loads of finger based tonal variety.
  16. Been a long time since I saw this particular band.
  17. Nice bass! You can never have too many. Bonus points for cheering up @Dood 😊
  18. Looks great! Congrats on a real steal deal.
  19. I had to spend an absolute fortune on expensive pedals in order to discover how good my Zoom multi effects are. Until I had actually played through several 150 - 200 quid envelope filters, I didn't realise how good the filters on the B1on actually are.
