  1. I had two of these and I liked them very much.
  2. What is the incomparably brilliant Bruce Thomas playing here?
  3. Made with a hacked Zoom B1on. Began life as a simple pitch shift for when I'm working out basslines an octave up. Added the Dynamic Drive before the Bass Pitch to firm up the note, remove the warble. Then got to mucking about. Added a Mono Synth which loved the drive, they played together very nicely. I backed the octave-up down a bit into the mix added an A-Filter and about 4 1/2 tonnes of compression (160 Comp). It went from being Grit to Grit Robot, to Gritoctabot, before finally ending as a Groctwabot. Sadly Soundcloud couldn't cope with the name so shortened it. Stupid Soundcloud.
  4. I did this with Tadeschi Trucks. Ticket for the London Palladium show and thought it might be 'a bit much'. Plonker.
  5. Anything you need more specifically, just let me know.
  6. 8?? I thought it was two trail song albums, the stripey one and the Wongnotes one? I shall have to check that link out.
  7. I think Cory has completed 4 albums, a chat show, endless YouTube videos - all of them good, during the lockdown!
  8. You can use it as 5 stomps which yes you scroll through with the right pedal to select the next one you want to turn on or off. But if its the same one to turn on and off then that remains selected until you scroll It's not hard to do, not as fiddly as you think. you can always go down the patches route (very quick and easy on the computer) so if a song has say, 3 effects on it and one which comes on and off throughout just make a patch with all the fx, then copy and paste it onto the adjacent patch, delete the effect in question. Then just switch from one patch to the other. Just to be clear, you only cycle through the 5 effects you've chosen as your 'board' not all the available effects. So if your overdrive is no 3, activate it /deactivate it with one pedal You only scroll through the to get to another effect.
  9. It's a Gregory Isaacs kind of day today. First discovered him in the early 80s when a mate put Night Nurse on a mix tape for me. What a voice!
  10. The trailer is just brilliant. I've ordered the vinyl too!
  11. I shall follow your progress with interest
  12. unless the £8 is counted as part of the 135...
  13. Yep the free delivery threshold is now higher than it used to be. Which means you add the £8 pretty much regardless, unless you want to pay all the extra fees involved with going over 135 quid. If I was buying bits and pieces from Thomann I would add a few things to the basket to tip it over the free delivery threshold, it felt like an £8 discount on a packet of strings or some patch cables. Not knowing what the total bill will be, but knowing that it is going to be high, is pretty off putting.
  14. I'm reporting this heresy to the police 😳
  15. I'll have a rummage. What about speaker cabs? You need amplification too?
  16. With you all the way! Only come across this once, on a recent purchase. My first thought was... what the hell??? I can have compression or auto wah, but not both? And the compressor has to be first in the chain? And a block of reverb and a block of delays I won't need but the envelopes chorus and phasers all share a block? Insane.
  17. I did it for a living once (worked for an interior designer fitting show houses and private homes with curtain tracks and poles, mirrors, pictures, shelves and so forth) the thing which makes it tricky is that no two walls are the same. Lathe and plaster, horse hair, plaster board, brick, blocks of all different types, steel frames, wood frames, the list goes on. Having the right kit and know how for each is the trick. A set of full length, interlined velvet curtains can weigh far more than a bass guitar. If the customer has chosen an iron pole with only two fixings in the bracket and their wall was built 300 years ago, it's a nasty scenario for the dope with the drill. Oh and central heating pipes, electric cables, both hidden in the wall add spice to the job too! Don't trust that metal detector to tell you where the pipe is. Turn the heating up full and feel the wall for the heat, just to be safe.
  18. Very well put together and the editing was really slick. At the moment I've only listened via phone speakers (in bed and headphones are just out of reach) and I can't hear any difference (when not watching I can't tell when the pedals change!). I'm sure when I listen with 'cans' the nuances will be clearer. Down the pub on a Saturday night with some guitarist howling and tub thumper thumping? No one will ever notice the difference. Which is a massive positive because it means you could choose based on size and price if you're only thinking of a pub band scenario. Of course recording is a totally different ball game.
  19. That does look nifty! I'm sure no one at Basschat Towers would mind you linking to the guy. Check with one of the mods. They all come down to dining room for kedgeree and kippers at 9am (although I believe Ped has his breakfast brought to him in his suite by his valet)
