  1. I have to say it - some of them are way better than Boss. And the plastic they're made from doesn't affect the tone and is actually a hard substance which doesn't dissolve on contact with the air ☺️
  2. They don't make effects but Funny Little Boxes is an independent retailer. Another smashing bloke to deal with too. If he hasn't got it he will track it down for you.
  3. Look no further than Bad Penny FX Lovely people, cracking effects.
  4. Nothing I've ever played comes close. It's not a sound, it's an immersive experience.
  5. I fear I'll miss mine horribly when it goes but health issues have put me out of a couple of gigging bands and I can barely lift the thing so all in all it's not going to get used.
  6. You need an SVT in my opinion. I have been holding mine for another Basschatter ever since I had it completely overhauled and revalved. If he decides he does not want it, I'll be listing it here.
  7. Let me know how you get on please. I'm a comparatively dainty size 9 but was struggling to land on a couple of switches at rehearsal. I wondered if these toppers might help.
  8. It's funny, before I became a slave to pedal addiction, I saw it as a chore. Now I do it for fun.
  9. How can you hate Granny at Christmas!!!
  10. I think I'll let Bad Penny explain it! Our Dynamic Boost is quite the treat for any players board, however functions just as well processing DAW audio signals. This is a single transistor boost with gain, master volume and bass controls. With a slightly reduced guitar/input signal and the gain of the unit set to minimum you can achieve a clean tripling of the original volume, the bass switch allowing you further tone shaping, toggling between a bright treble boost or full thickness of your original signal. Turning the gain control will progressively add dirt all the way up to spluttering crunch, making this a highly versatile, dynamic boost for almost any occasion, it can be bright, it can be full, it can be loud or crunchy and is always beautifully articulate of your expression. I use it in a loop with my distortion so I can keep the distortion on (most of the time) then goose it with the boost which causes it to break up more when I want to get really nasty.
  11. Pbass left MM right then MM left Pbass right.
  12. They're not the same neck. MM has one more fret, otherwise they measure and feel identical
  13. I just had a look at the blurb on the BF site. Pleasantly surprised by the price, I thought it would be north of 300. I'm having a big box built which isn't a million miles away from this, and certainly costs a lot more.
  14. And in situ. This board is finally finished. Nothing on it I want to change.
  15. Just spent a happy hour with mine. Its one of those basses feels like it was either made for me or I've had it so long it's become part of me. I love it when a new bass has this effect.
  16. Good luck BB, hope you enjoy your bass. Ibanez seems to me a very safe choice. I'm amazed by my two.
  17. I don't think it's about being offended certainly not in my case, it's more of an eye rolling, my God are there people who are employed by this company who are so mind bogglingly stupid they actually think this is funny. It's a boring cliché ungrounded in truth. I react to it in the same way I do to a bad film, I switch off.
  18. Wonder what could be in a box with this label on it... Unsurprisingly perhaps it isn't a new car. But it is a thing of beauty nonetheless
  19. For me Thomann win on just about every level. But their greatest strength is web design. The site is so simple to use, so pleasing and logical, I never struggle to find what I'm interested in and I can organise my searches easily and quickly in many different ways. The fact that it's so easy and enjoyable to browse makes it incredibly fun for window shopping. And because I have the will of a warm kitkat that window shopping has often ended up in actual shopping. Win for the customer, win for the retailer.
  20. I think it's perfectly understandable we get fed up with with being the most important member of any band, while no one has a clue what we're even there for. However the fact that we're the most important member of any band provides me with enough comfort to cope with idiocy like that shown by PMT in this poorly thought out 'joke'.
  21. Elf into a BF Midget is my preference. I used to use TCE 250 with the two 8" speakers. As @jimbartlett says the convenience of a small combo is just so good at a gig, you're set up before you arrive. However the Elf gives me a bit more of the sound I like, and the BF gives me lots more oomph. Or is it heft? But I really like the look of that 2 x 10 Elf rig.
  22. I have never played through a good one either. So I've been unlucky, or you're quite right. I don't drink, sorry Ped.
