  1. I honestly don't think you'll regret it. I know we all look for different things in a bass, hear different things and have different things which might niggle us, but this feels, sounds and plays so well, I think at the price almost anyone would be happy.
  2. I mean, if your actually going to force it on me...
  3. I do have a set of RCFs we use as our main out front for vocal, keys and maybe a bit of the drum kit depending on the room. I wouldn't compare it with those, but then, they're the best I've ever heard. I only planned on using it as a monitor as a wedding band I dep for are all in-ears, no backline. I'm not going to buy in-ears when I might only get one or two gigs from them but the monitor is always a useful bit of kit. It handles everything I've thrown at it just fine and in case of dire emergency could do service as FOH. For £50 I'm very happy.
  4. Dan somehow allowed me to steal the world's finest ever Bass Overdrive Pedal. What a great guy to deal with. Always kept me informed what was happening, courteous, honest and an all round good egg. Happy to recommend him.
  5. I picked up a Studiospares powered speaker for peanuts. It was use but even so still so cheap. Gigged it once in a largish city centre pub with a preamp. I lost the real, deepest bottom end is all. But the mids (which people seem to like) were fine.
  6. Just received another magic switchable tone pot from John's ever reliable works. The usual excellent service.
  7. I loved it. Wonderful film. Follow the BEEB link to his desert island discs appearance . Taken straight after the film it's really quite interesting.
  8. Not had it cranked yet but at low volumes I can tell it has a very wide range of sounds. Individual level controls for both halves of the pick up give a lot of flexibility. It grunts, and sparkles. I like it a lot.
  9. Just about to post this, actually searched first and found this thread. Imagine if we all did that, the mods would be out of a job.
  10. Solved - Thanks man. Pulling the strap over the rear hump took away say 50% of the dive. But by doing so it also shortened the strap which brought the bass up a little and now my right forearm rests beautifully on the back of the bass. It's not only very comfortable, but the weight of the arm kills the last bit of imbalance!
  11. C'mon if you think yer 'ard enough
  12. Anyone watch Sex and Drugs and Rock n roll last night? If not it's on the iPlayer. BBC4
  13. Thank you @pedfor all the work you've put into this project, and indeed into all things Basschat. I don't exaggerate when I say my life is a better place for this place.
  14. Neck isn't quite as chunky as a P Bass but not thin as a jazz. Welcome to try mine if you're in this part of the world.
  15. One of favourite instruments. Lovely finish, sounds great, not too heavy, plays nicely.
  16. Happy to raise a smile. Don't know about your concept of God but mine most definitely has a sense of humour.
