Trust me, I've tried so many chorus pedals and this is the best.

Irish pub in town with the originals band. We play a kind of upbeat Anglo Celtic folkish set, mainly originals and have a monthly residency here. The only drawback (apart from the low pay) is the lack of care for the musicians. No stage, no security, people falling over the gear, hardly any space to set up and another venue where the owner insists on playing sound engineer. Not that he actually runs a PA or anything (there isn't one) he just stands there telling us to turn the bass down. And turn everything else up. Which the BL dutifully does so we end up playing among a cacophony of howling feedback and with no discernable bass. While fending off drunken punters with our instruments. Don't get me wrong, this is my job and I'm grateful for the gig. I don't expect to enjoy every work night any more than office drones enjoy every day at their desk. I've just never believed in cow towing to anyone else when it comes to our sound. It's ours. We know how it should be. But there we are. A wedding tomorrow with a different outfit entirely.

Damn. That didn't last long.

And just like that it started to function properly. The weird wonderful magic of the personal computer. No idea why but happy it's fixed.

The 'little things' that make bass life better!

Yep. I play a regular gig on a very gloomy stage. -
The latest version. I will see how I go about rolling it back

Since the recent update Audacity has developed the following issue: When attempting to copy and paste a track or part thereof I get an error message telling me Audacity can't import AUP files. Does anyone else have this issue and if so what can I do? Using Linux, Manjaro and it's the latest version of Audacity.

They don't tell you anything at JPTR - they like to let us discover stuff. You can blend in clean bottom end. And alter which frequency that is. Whether it's always there or not I can't say.
-
Absolutely breathtaking. It's deceptive...the outside has no control beyond the on off switch. However under the bonnet is a parametric EQ for the clean bass which allows you to set it either to boost the lower frequency of your choice or simply natch it with your clean sound. You can also alter the fuzz from just breaking up to something you could shave with. And there are four dip switches to alter the nature of the fuzz in yet more ways but I've yet to really play with these. In short, set it precisely how you want it, seal it up and don't ever worry about accidentally changing the settings. I'd say it's the perfect bass fuzz.

Just arrived from Germany. I can't believe the price of these pedals. So cheap. Even got free postage on this!

It is similar in many ways. Has some great sounds.

This week's board. Using the Ampero as a preamp everything else in its loop.
-
I know. It's shameful
-
See. Even my Orange Little Bass Thing looks ludicrous with such a massive overhang.

Thread revival. 20 pages way too much to plough through. Quick question: how, given the HPF removes inaudible frequencies, do you tell if it's working?

Bought a couple of cabs from Simon today and the entire transaction was a reminder of why I love Basschat. The price was more than fair, he drove to meet me at a mutually agreed place, the cabs were precisely as described, and the communication throughout was faultless. Absolutely excellent Basschatter - deal with complete confidence.

The ‘What Was the Last Song You Played’ Thread

Born To Be Wild, our own interpretation loosely based on Wilson Pickett's cover. Played for fun as the venue had completely emptied and we had five minutes to fill -
To be honest I don't know. These particular gigs come through a booker and it just feels like a soulless exercise for all concerned.

Another slightly depressing Friday night pub gig yesterday. I don't know how these places stay in business with so few customers. We went through the motions and it will help pay some bills, but it's tiring sometimes.
