  1. Grunting I can do! Thanks for the kind words. I transcribe at least a few bars most days and sometimes more. I must confess it is becoming easier and taking less time to pick out the right notes. Bizarrely I often get tripped up with unison. Searching with increasing bewilderment for the note only to discover that the bass player stayed on, say, a G, while the chord changed to C.
  2. I think the op just misread the forum. I'd like to welcome @[email protected] There is a thread where folk introduce themselves. Why not just pop over there and tell us a bit about yourself, and we can all start again.
  3. And resurrection of an ancient thread just to pick a fight!
  4. Thank you, @TKenrick, I will investigate. I can see how the song method works. Sing the opening three notes to Happy Birthday, and there's your interval. In my case those three notes would be different every time I sang them.
  5. True, that would work. Not very rock n roll though is it!
  6. Actually, no! But I certainly will.
  7. By the way, their bass head has a very interesting back panel. And a great name... BASSTODON
  8. Yeah hobbing with the nobs 🤣🤣🤣 If had a half decent YouTube channel I might have been in for a few freebies
  9. I'm not going to put any holes in it. The strap button is on the back so no way to extend that with a single fixing, it will just rotate. A wide strap pulls on my damaged shoulder. I was at sw bash 2 years ago with a waist strap made from a weightlifting belt, but it needs holes drilling. It's an absolute beauty to look at and to play, if I end up having to move it on I can't be putting holes in it.
  10. Found the UK distributor for these had a long chat with him. Hopefully I'll be trying some and get let folk know what I think. The company also make (and have a growing reputation for) guitar amps and one bass head. More info as I get it.
  11. This fine fellow contacted me to remind me about something that I wanted to buy. 😅 I'd even forgotten I wanted it! Wonderful service from start to finish. I happily recommend this funky bass player to the Basschat community.
  12. @Cuzzie wonderful finishes there mate. Wonder what it would look like if the paint was partially burned off 🤔
  13. This is the problem. I can't use those songs because I can't sing them.
  14. Is there any way to learn to recognise intervals if you can't sing?
  15. An excellent recommendation. Always thorough, fair and without irritating fanfare or gimmickry.
  16. Oh... I'm back in bed, if I can get up again today I'll picture the back, sorry.
  17. I'm having a tele bass made (not yet, fundraising still) and the only thing I specifically asked for was at least some part of the body to have been burned. Preferably quite badly!
  18. That weather beaten one is wonderful. Looks like my mum's ancient dining table and I know she didn't relic that! So either best job I've ever seen or genuine.
