  1. Yes Ella is doing the scat this guy managed somehow to work out what she did and played along with her.
  2. Who can say. I often fall into the trap of assuming when I see anything bass related that makes me go wow! I have to come here and share it. I forget that me enjoying something doesn't equate to every one enjoying it. I was going to share some dude playing bebop on a double bass which was another piece of unbelievable playing but maybe I won't risk getting my buzz harshed.
  3. I mean, he's only doing what we all do surely? I'm currently trying to play a couple bars of a Charlie Parker solo in all 12 keys. It's a challenge, it's fun and it's a learning experience. This is Mr Navarro doing the same. His technical ability is just so much higher than mine that's all. (The Charlie Parker thing was a suggestion on FB not my idea) Oh and if you watch his video on Music Theory it's clear he's a really intelligent nice bloke too. But as has often been said before each to their own. I guess if it's not for you, you stop watching. Simples.
  4. Oh. Sorry I thought it was a great bit of fun.
  5. If this has already been shared I'd love to say I'm sorry. But no. It bears sharing more than once. Virtuosity and a great creative, fun idea. (Sorry to those who didn't realise that playing a Harley Benton really does make you a better player - this is the definitive proof)
  6. The fact that this is still here tells all we need to know about the state of the market Good luck mate.

    Zoom MS60-B

Ah. Well John Player produced their standard coffin sticks in a blue packet same size as all the other brands. But for the discerning addict who wished to show the world how wide his pockets were, John Player Specials came in a black carton half the thickness but twice the width. It was the classy way to stain teeth, fingertips, ceilings and above all lungs. I fell for it too.

I still keep mine on my main board, its going nowhere: noise gate, HPF and compressor in a box not much bigger than 20 John Player Special for 45 quid??

    Zoom MS60-B

@Al Krow Didn't take long to do this as it turned out. Just took me ages to get around to it. In each case the settings are the same - the B1 FOUR first the MS-60B second. The results were so overwhelmingly conclusive I stopped after 3 different effects. You see 4 because the first pair are the pedals flat, no eq. Of course FOUR owners need not despair, there is the bass, mid, treble , volume overall controls which can level the playing field.
  10. I don't think it will. I'll be buried with a dozen unfinished boards
  11. Hi fellow FI freak's. Any FB users that might have missed 3 here's an interesting thing.
  12. My soldering skill begins and ends at 1/4" jack plugs, so I'm safe there. Having bought of their pedals I am in no doubt of the sound quality, so I am excited to use it as well as just look at it and sigh
  13. Not seen one like this before. What a beauty!
  14. I mustard mitt the price of custom pedals and basses had me rolling my eyes in the past. But the money I ever waste buying so many pedals when really my board is just great as is, is ridiculous. The thrill of being there at the inception, of having it how I want it, of it being unique. These are gifts difficult to value in pounds sterling. The moment this idea landed I pretty much stopped buying other pedals. The only exception is the Zoom MS-60B, of which I only need two more to complete my MS-60B FIVE board. A silly little project which is bringing me no end of pleasure. I estimate this one pedal will be the price of maybe 2 1/2 boutique pedals, 3 big name pedals, 4 'normal' pedals, and a furniture lorry full of tiny cheap pedals. Anyone who knows me and my long standing defence of budget brands knows I'm not a gear snob. This is a one off special treat for me and a chance to support a small UK company.
  15. Since I stepped back from the whole thing I've actually been much happier and way less curmudgeonly.
  16. Glad I'm not the only one! Really cool pedal.
  17. large, you can tell by the number of bars on the upper tier.
  18. 👆 I reckon 10 Boss pedals will fit with relative comfort and no funny angles. The biggest drawback I have found is the underground carpark is just mm too low for a Boss pedal. I use this space to park my always on pedals and power supply (and a spaghetti junction of power and patch cables).
  19. I have often suspected that playing the same part incorrectly more than once is actually building unwanted muscle memory. Seems I'm right. If you see a tough bit coming up then slow down immediately, the first time you play it. click the link for the science! 🔗
  20. We obviously have a lot in common.
