  1. Monica is great to deal with, friendly and polite, fair with her pricing, great communications and a very prompt and tidy packager of pedals. I happily endorse her to the community. 😊
  2. I seem to learn of so many great players only at the time of their passing. A latecomer to the genre and ToP in particular, I love the little I've heard. Learning about the bass player would have been my next step. Sad news. I'm sorry for those of you who knew and loved the guy's playing.
  3. I have yet to build my own, but I would start with a Harley Benton kit from Thomann simply because many others here have had success with them. However reading between the lines I suspect you'd be happier starting with a lump of wood and sourcing bits and pieces here and there. You have time tools and skills and want to feel its yours, unique. You won't get that buzz from a kit.
  4. Beautiful film, one of my favourites. Hope she enjoyed it.
  5. Me too! Also in one song I need a low D, but only a couple of times. Ricochet on 'momentary' set to 2 down - boom! It's great. The octave up sound us so good I've recorded me playing chords with it and people have assumed it was a guitar!
  6. I don't know if I ever updated mine. I had better check. The tuner is as good, the HPF is better (well, easier to use) lots of options for the effects you list. But the main advantage I find is being able to use it like a pedal board. Having a row of pedals, in a line and being able to turn them on and off individually. You can do this on the B1on but only by creating multiple patches.
  7. Got a picture at all? I might have something more to your taste. I'll pm details later.
  8. I use the Mobile Sheets Pro app. Didn't know it kept a record of what I've played. I'll have to investigate.
  9. I have the exact model. Apart from the Kiogon tone switch I have to say I've left it as it arrived. It came set up how I like it, and sounded superb. One of the nicest finishes on any bass I've seen.
  10. Live Internet gig on Saturday. I can tell you no more than that! I guess I'll find out.
  11. Been reading this thread, very keen to join in. Sadly for me I've had to accept it has never been about the tone for me. It's always been about the bass line. It can be a Jamerson thud or JJB's filthy snarl, Entwistle's barrage of effects or Bruce Thomas perfect precision. The sound has never been the deciding factor for me. Which is sad because I don't get to join in the fun. *SIGH*
  12. This is the kind of serendipity Basschat often pulls off. I was looking at my all black bass this morning and thinking, when I change strings I'm going to look for some affordable black ones. Boom! Mick, starts a thread.
  13. I have a customised search which shows me unread content in the fora in which I have the most interest. This is nearly everything bar off topic and a couple of others.
  14. @Jus Lukin good grief! What a tale. So glad the outcome leaves you with a roof and an income!
  15. Just so you know your hard work on this thread hasn't been wasted, here's an example of how I used to write a score. The point being not that it's bad, more that I can see why it's bad.
  16. I have both but not the X version. Yes it is definitely an upgrade. Better quality, and a much easier to use and set up. There are control knobs for overall volume and tone so no menu diving. You can use it as five separate stomps as well as patches. Altering the effects parameters is a breeze compared with the B1on. Again those knobs rather than menu diving. Second hand mine cost me £45, the HPF alone makes it worth twice that.
  17. I have done it on a B1on its very straightforward and at a stroke has removed a ton of amp sims, delays and reverb which I never used and ended up scrolling endlessly through. Only downside is the Tonelib software can no longer 'see' the effects on the pedal. If you rely on Tonelib best not do it.
  18. Have to say this echoes my sentiments precisely. If people who care about the difference can't tell the difference, then surely it doesn't matter.
  19. Correction to the correction. There's a hidden gem. Designed to be used with the G1Xon the PDL MnPit is designed to be used with an expression pedal (which the B1on of course can't do so I must have loaded it by mistake). Produces some sweet octave up, 2 octave up, 4th down tones as well as a couple of teeth wrenching 2 octaves down. Possibly more. The controls need interpreting as it's not made for the B1on but it sounds unbelievably good. In tune, clear sound with no warble, unless you wait to the very very end of the dying note where it loses contact with the original note. This is so unbelievably useful for those of us who like to bi-amp, or get chordal sounds to support in a 3 piece. I'll record it so you don't have to take my word for it! edit ooh ooh - just found a nice 5th above too!
  20. Correction it's only for old pedals. You can use it to bung G series stuff onto old B series pedals, or MS-60B effects onto your B1on otherwise, nothing terribly exciting here. Sorry if I raised your hopes.
  21. Disclaimer : I haven't tried this myself. I don't know if it's real or safe. I'm just sharing a video I found on YT. Apparently you can customise your zoom multi to have any effect from any zoom pedal, bass or guitar.
  22. Ah that amp will give every cab just what it needs. Glad you found what you needed to sit beneath it.
