  1. Ah, right that makes sense. I know very little about them, the Electra is my first Sandberg and I only acquired it recently via the BC marketplace.
  2. Slightly confused by the press release quoted above. "with tobacco burst is as a new option beside the already known high gloss finishes black and crème." reads to me as if Tobacco Burst is a new colour. Pretty sure my Electra is tobacco burst and it ain't new!
  3. Congratulations! That's how I like to see a bass packaged. Also don't listen to those squares man - let your string ends hang out.
  4. I do like a happy ending! Lost love, reunited. For what it's worth I think tort / black is a great combination.
  5. I remember his sounded amazing. When I switched to bass a couple of years later I found nothing that good until I came across the Aria I still play to this day
  6. Some very nice bits of wood and wire on this thread.
  7. Intervals All.mp3
  8. The one on the right - is that an 80s vintage? I seem to recall a bass playing friend back then had one very much like it.
  9. Well folks, this is it. Young @BreadBin met me in a car park on the outskirts of Frome and I got my hands on that upon which many other hands have alighted. A thousand thanks to all those who took part, including those who I was unable to fit into the scheme, it was truly a remarkable effort. Not the farthest a bass has been delivered in this way, but I have my eye on one in Scotland so any record holders out there - beware!
  10. Something like this but in all the keys? This is C Intervals_C.mp3
  11. With plate. Plenty of maple on view, black plate provides an excellent contrast of both shape, colour and material.
  12. That's a work of art.
  13. looking good
  14. Hi Darren, I've been playing bass since the Jurassic age but one technique I've never got to grips with is slapping. I suspect a lack of motivation as it's not my favourite thing to do, or listen to, but some jobs require at least a basic competence. Here's my question : Why do I produce such a feeble sound when striking the D and G strings with my thumb? The E and A ring out beautifully, but the higher two are quiet to the point of inaudibility. Makes no difference how fast or slow I'm playing, open or fretted notes. Any ideas?
  15. I haven't, but if sounds really useful. Might be good to have the notes on the stave too to improve both ear training and sight reading. If I create sheet music Musescore will generate an mp3, which would be what you're after. I'll have a look tomorrow.
  16. I tried to look at their website but it says they don't sell to the general public.
  17. Don't cry. It's probably your higher power trying to tell you that a nice shiny metal one will look better. 😉
  18. I also have the Harley deluxe 2 pick up job - it's absolutely stunning, and active and pick ups are bright and punchy as hell. However...the neck pup is so close to the fretboard that you can hit the strings but pulling them is not easy.
  19. I have the OLP. A 5er in fetching pink. As they say in Midsomer Norton, theym orlrigh mind
  20. Mr Big Stuff. Where reggae and soul met and had a great time. Mr_Big_Stuff.pdf
  21. Yep there it is. Soo clever.
  22. You know what? I was thinking as I posted. No pictures Stew? They won't like that.
