  1. Bought a loom from John which arrived promptly and in prefect shape. Fantastic communication, clear and helpful guidance and a very very good looking product. Thanks John
  2. YES! My band started covering this in lockdown, it's beautiful.
  3. Hey - I sound awesome with the mid scoop button in.
  4. Thank you so much. I will keep you updated.
  5. A BB is the perfect compromise between P & J in my experience. Also fabulous pickups. The bridge pickup could blow most P pickups out of the water. If I hadn't sold mine I'd still have it.
  6. I'm out on Saturday. Gig just came in. Be great to give the RM a runout.
  7. Bass has gone. Thanjs for the offers received, but I missed out. Anyone able to help me with a potential bass relay? Not a hugely expensive prize but the guy selling is not confident in his packing and I'm not confident in Hermes. It's in or near Sheffield, I'm near Bath. Anyone from up that way coming anywhere south? Or travelling via Sheffield en route for anywhere closer where another Basschatter could take over?
  8. Thanks for the book endorsement, wasn't sure if I would like it, I'll get it now. DD seems to me the epitome of how a seemingly simple bass line can make a song.
  9. I'm becoming a bit of a fan too. Before getting the RM I used an ABM, also have a CTM100. I like the RM. It's not an ABM but it's plenty close enough.
  10. Watch the whole show ..
  11. Watching this great footage of Otis Redding, in what looks like a school hall, presumambly ending his set. Obviously I've only got eyes for the diminutive Dylan Thomas lookalike on the bass. I love it when people have a sense of humour on stage, it always makes the gig a happier event. On this you can see him exchange smiles with various members of the band and right at the very end, after someone finally manages to restrain Otis coming back ... again ... who is left shouting 'once more!' as the rest of the band scarper as fast as they can? Always the bass player. Not just the calmest, the most intelligent and musically knowledgeable, the best looking and the coolest, but also the funniest.
  12. It was the picture of my evident joy on unboxing the bass! Let's fan the flames...
  13. I really like this. The reason it would look good at the Tate is its a strong composition.
  14. Mmmm, that looks nice @ead. What do you have in mind? Stew
  15. used my RM500 in rehearsal yesterday and left the eq off. It sounded great. Really good.
  16. Jack socket problem sorted. The design doesn't allow a right angled jack to quite go in quite far enough. So the top contact, instead of fitting neatly into the recess at the end of the plug is actually pressing on the end, thus easing it out of the socket. A straight jack = no problem.
