  1. I give full and fair notice. Anyone thinking of buying this. You have until next Friday. The 17th. If you don't move on it before then I'm afraid @ash will be receiving a formal offer at the full asking price.
  2. Yep, and everyone in the house knows I've eaten it not long after 😷
  3. Labella Deep Talkin flatwounds, no less. Smooth, responsive, articulate, almost addictive to play. If a teenage boy was given a bass with these on he'd never discover masturbation.
  4. I opened it up before we started rehearsal and squeezed its private parts together hoping that would help, but no. The lead works fine in all my other basses, anyway, not a difficult fix and did not spoil my enjoyment of the bass.
  5. Beautiful bass, collected this week, bought from @Mickeyboro. Hoped I might hate the strings as they're blooming expensive, but I love them. I also love the sound. No eq needed on the amp at it's first outing today. Only fault I can find is the jack socket doesn't hold the plug, keeps on falling out. But the neck, balance and sound are perfect
  6. Well, this just ignited a serious gas leak.
  7. I am selling a PJ squier - beware the neck is a Jazz size. If you like P Bass then these may not be for you. The Vintage basses are good, but I would recommend a Bass Collection P Bass from the Bass Centre.
  8. Tell you what, with a modicum of pressure I could be persuaded to find out.
  9. The world could do with a few more like you. The amount of times people seem incapable of detecting the nuances of written conversations can be extremely vexing. Especially when their other contributions reveal them to be capable and intelligent people. It's almost as if they choose to interpret the demonstrably flippant as a serious factual statement.
  10. @scrumpymike I sold the Trace Elliot 🤦🏼‍♂️ The R.O.D is no more. How about I bring my Tri-amp Crossed Overthinking It Rig instead? And various bass curios.
  11. Couldn't agree more, I gasped when I got to the headstock shot. Didn't realise these used to have a more traditional shape. Looks like a lovely bass. Good luck with it.
  12. Bought a stunning tobacco burst Sandberg from @Mickeyboro and it was a lovely deal. Communications could not have been better and Mick's a smashing bloke, so trade with absolute confidence. He even refunded my money when I overpaid. What a numpty I am - thanks mate much appreciated. We avoided the nail biting option of couriers which he was happy to do, offering a couple of options viz: meeting up or a third party handover, which went as smooth as a meerkat's smooth bits.
  13. I hear you. I can play a jazz neck but I prefer something chunky
  14. A place I do a bit of work plays Absolute G̶a̶r̶b̶a̶g̶e̶ 80s, on the DAB. I realised that I actually like the synth bass on a lot of the poppy stuff like Baranaramara and early Depeche Mode among many others. My focus will therefore be on this area for a while. Any tips gratefully received.
  15. I just had a message from one of my BLs. 'Get ready, we're going to be out gigging again soon' ! Apparently she's had the green light for playing outdoors. Exciting times.
  16. My daughter is one of those artist types, I actually asked her to do this on a scratch plate for me. She told me to go buy a template. Apparently she didn't fancy the job. I suspect it may have been a little too labour intensive.
  17. God, you'd think she could find somewhere else to entertain other than your workshop.
  18. Flats, 50 105, can't recall what they are as I've tried a ton of flats in the last year. Red silks if that helps? Sorry. Nut width is a Jazzy 38mm, neck looks to be about 20 mm (holding a rule and eyeing it) Kitchen light is way better than my room, so I noticed a couple minor blemishes the the end of the headstock which I'd missed.
  19. What a wonderful, fascinating and dare I say it beautifully quixotic build this is. I love the way we get to 'see' your thoughts and ideas as they form. And to get approval from She Who Must... Well, that in itself is a great achievement. Will the finished article be present at the Bass Bash?
  20. Be interested to hear your thoughts on the surf green j&d @flowersdie I have been eying them up online but seeing one in the flesh is a whole different ball game.
  21. Well, initially I was, however... you never know. Message me - let's talk.
