  1. Yep. Not knocking them for their utility, just not to my taste.
  2. Joyo has some new pedals on the way. Of interest to us are the Legal Done noise gate, Narcissus chorus and specifically these two: The R series looks extremely cool (except those shiny knobs, I must confess they cheapen the aesthetic to my eyes). But most importantly they sound pretty darned good too. I have a few of their pedals in this series and in the Ironman range and they are very, very good.
  3. I've been excited by this too. The guitar version sounds great on all the demos I've heard
  4. Mine has never disappointed when used live. Really great sounds from it, and the always on stuff like compression is top drawer. Oh and don't forget the B6 boasts the best tuner I have ever used.
  5. I've heard this bass live - it's lovely. Really rich rounded tone Oh and Matt is a lovely guy to deal with too
  6. Oh God. This is on my most wanted list. This colour too. Oh God.
  7. I'm surprised there's no bass stuff on the new model. The original gives you a choice of bass or guitar at the very start.
  8. I'd love one, but it would be an expensive luxury for me if I'm honest. Having said that, logic seldom plays a part in my decision making.
  9. Long day yesterday. A corporate function (belated staff Christmas party) in Somerset. Big crowd, nice stage, we were well looked after all day. Only problem was poor onstage sound and the organisers (who controlled the FOH level) while happy to have the DJ shaking the walls, had the band so quiet we could hear people chatting on the dance floor 🤷🏻‍♂️
  10. Off the manufacturer's website
  11. Nope. I follow it with a Harmonic Booster and set the tone there
  12. I've always wanted that 60s / early 70s bass sound which is compressed but still fat, a little broken or overdriven but kind of organically so. Like the limitations of character of the older equipment made it rather than through effects. This has got me close
  13. Just sound checked on a rather nice sized stage. The JPTR sounds righteous. The missing link in my sound. Top diode engaged, compressor before it, gain about 11 o'clock. Gorgeous.
  14. I've tried each of the clipping stages, they change so much with the gain I need to get it at volume in context to really decide. Without them I don't really hear much happening
  15. Good luck with that 😂 My midi skills never really got off the ground
  16. Welcome back! That's an absolute beauty.
  17. JPTR Jive arrived this morning after a long ride from Germany. First impressions are all very positive. It may be what I've been searching for. Certainly sounds like a bass straight into the desk of an old reel to reel tape recorder. Live test will come on Thursday.
  18. Standard January pub gig last night. Improvement on the previous visit to this venue, but still quite quiet. The germs are running me and the singer a bit ragged right now, but we got through. Used a tidy little rig which I do like.
  19. My guess is they lose the least revenue on a Wednesday afternoon in January. Bearing in mind at least three of their venues were closed to facilitate the event. Either way I'm happy
  20. Yesterday was a strange one: A gig on a Wednesday. A gig on a Wednesday in January. A Christmas party gig on a Wednesday in January. A well paid Christmas party gig on a Wednesday in January. An afternoon, well paid Christmas party gig on a Wednesday in January. A pub chain closed its doors to the public and bussed its staff from other locations around the country to their Birmingham venue. So in essence, a staff party for bar staff and management who are too busy over the Christmas and New Year's holidays to do it then. Went really well apart from the weird matinée vibe of working in the afternoon.
