  1. SOLD And down we go. The market has spoken so let's try £160. A rather splendid candy apple red Precision is yours for £180 quids. Happy to split the postage with you if you can't collect. Also I will throw in a used but serviceable hard case. Indonesian made, at the Cort factory in 2005, strung with flats, the neck pick up has been upgraded to a Seymour Duncan. These were well regarded members of the Squier family, and were officially discontinued in 2011. Currently with a tort pickguard and pick up cover but I can switch that for a white pearl if it's more your thing. I found one hair scratch on the edge of the neck at around the fifth fret and some more extensive but in no way deep scratches to the back. I've not been able to catch the scratch on the edge of the neck it really is that fine, the scratches on the back I've illustrated with a picture of the neckplate. Video just to prove it works as it should.
  2. I often refer to a bass as 'she' I suspect those who don't get it simply aren't hearing me correctly. The post is usually intended to be read in Swiss Toni style voice. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mtoyLPROLZI
  3. SOLD Beautiful Revelation fretless which I havered over selling, then decided it would be useful, then realised I just don't 'do' fretless (see video for proof). Highly thought of basses, I will have a fretted one (one day) as I really rate them. I'd like the paltry sum of £130 if you collect (or we meet somewhere reasonably close) I'll split the postage with you if you want it posted. Example noodling vid, recorded on my phone merely to prove it works.
  4. I know. It was when the I Can't Believe stuff was at the height of its popularity as well.
  5. I would be so far over the moon to see that set you'd need Hubble to find me
  6. I wanted to call our Madness trib, I Can't Believe It's Not Madness. Incorporating the margerine tub font and everything. I was so pleased with myself. They just stared at me.
  7. I too had no idea you didn't work for them. I always thought you'd written the manual, and therefore were definitely a part of the organisation. I don't think @prowla can be blamed for coming to a similar conclusion.
  8. With the readies. There's the rub. I shall have but I very much doubt this will still be here by then.
  9. This is the salient point. The last band name decision we made was so obvious we found a couple of others using it. But they were nowhere near us geographically so we went with it. One of them actually contacted us via social media trying to find out how long we'd been using the name. We reassured them that a) we play totally different circuits and b) we're so good that if they get confused with us it won't do them any harm. They'll probably be able to raise their fee
  10. We had some great band names play at our little venue back in the day. Masters Of Fung Ku were a great band, Loud Ugly and Crap had the most accurately descriptive name, Lob The Keeper, The Best Band In The World Ever (2) - people just shortened to The Best Band which did no harm. I get frustrated at band name choosing time because my ideas are always superb, but the band always goes for something dull and uninspired. But then I guess 90% of the audience and venues don't really care that much so its probably not worth getting my knickers twisted over.
  11. If you buy a sub 200 quid bass, you will need to replace the strings immediately as they will (presumably) be made from wool. That bass would suit a student but you could never gig with it. I had one of those (insert cheap makers name) cabs and all the speakers blew at the first rehearsal. and my absolute favourite : Of course, you get what you pay for.
  12. You know that shiver goes through you when one of your wish list basses suddenly appears? Followed by the sickening shudder when you remember that cab you bought recently, which you didn't really need.
  13. Looks wonderful. Been eyeing up a red old style p with white plate. This has done nothing to put me off the idea.
  14. No mine doesn't have this tick. 01 on the FI is 01 on the switcher
  15. Fabulous. Thank you. I'm sending this to our keys guy who has elected himself our mixing guru.
  16. When I was looking at midi switchers, I recall reading about this issue. Sure it was T21...I will have a look around.
  17. There's a guy on YouTube playing through a battery powered Roland PA and it's sounds just fine. Ordinary AA batteries too.
  18. I thought the same - however I also think this is very much up to us, the users. If I knew how to capture video on the desktop I would happily have a go.
  19. Glad we can do this without mud slinging. I may sound like I think only music I like is any good, but really I don't believe grown ups need to endlessly qualify with 'in my opinion '. Tastes differ and I don't believe mine to be any more valid than yours. The big change for me in the 90s was opening a live music venue. We wanted no jukebox, instead we made mix tapes and encouraged the punters to do likewise. It didn't take long before I was told that our music was fit only for dinosaurs, and the kids took over. I was strictly a radio 4 guy in those days having outgrown radio 1 but being way too cool for radio 2. So these cats literally introduced me to stuff I'd never heard of. Grunge, britpop, metal bands which didn't sound like my idea of metal. It was awesome. I loved it.
  20. I feel your pain. It is unlike any other pedal I've used, but the rewards are just great. I'm only starting to glimpse the possibilities but it's a really fun way to spend time. PM me if I can help I will. Sometimes having another total beginner to talk to can be helpful. Even if you don't bother learning to programme your own sounds, there are many really great ones out there you can download.
  21. The 90s saw the cycle grind around again. I clearly remember a mate running up to me, dragging me back to his place so he could play me the first Oasis album. It may be fashionable among the sneering set to denigrate them now , but when they landed it was so refreshing. As my friend put it that day, people are making pop music with guitars again, they actually sound like a band!
  22. Hi, I think the Phil Jones stuff is highly regarded, but definitely not cheap!
  23. Ooh, sorry I didn't read the opening post closely enough, I was only looking for speaker switcher. They all seem to be jack socketed.
