  1. Yes!
  2. Watch the whole show ..
  3. Watching this great footage of Otis Redding, in what looks like a school hall, presumambly ending his set. Obviously I've only got eyes for the diminutive Dylan Thomas lookalike on the bass. I love it when people have a sense of humour on stage, it always makes the gig a happier event. On this you can see him exchange smiles with various members of the band and right at the very end, after someone finally manages to restrain Otis coming back ... again ... who is left shouting 'once more!' as the rest of the band scarper as fast as they can? Always the bass player. Not just the calmest, the most intelligent and musically knowledgeable, the best looking and the coolest, but also the funniest.
  4. It was the picture of my evident joy on unboxing the bass! Let's fan the flames...
  5. I really like this. The reason it would look good at the Tate is its a strong composition.
  6. Mmmm, that looks nice @ead. What do you have in mind? Stew
  7. ... and they're out of stock.
  8. Aargh, I bend, I break.
  9. used my RM500 in rehearsal yesterday and left the eq off. It sounded great. Really good.
  10. 😂 😂 Cat/pigeon scenario?
  11. Jack socket problem sorted. The design doesn't allow a right angled jack to quite go in quite far enough. So the top contact, instead of fitting neatly into the recess at the end of the plug is actually pressing on the end, thus easing it out of the socket. A straight jack = no problem.
  12. I give full and fair notice. Anyone thinking of buying this. You have until next Friday. The 17th. If you don't move on it before then I'm afraid @ash will be receiving a formal offer at the full asking price.
  13. Yep, and everyone in the house knows I've eaten it not long after 😷
  14. Labella Deep Talkin flatwounds, no less. Smooth, responsive, articulate, almost addictive to play. If a teenage boy was given a bass with these on he'd never discover masturbation.
  15. I opened it up before we started rehearsal and squeezed its private parts together hoping that would help, but no. The lead works fine in all my other basses, anyway, not a difficult fix and did not spoil my enjoyment of the bass.
  16. Beautiful bass, collected this week, bought from @Mickeyboro. Hoped I might hate the strings as they're blooming expensive, but I love them. I also love the sound. No eq needed on the amp at it's first outing today. Only fault I can find is the jack socket doesn't hold the plug, keeps on falling out. But the neck, balance and sound are perfect
  17. This is a 'sell everything and buy it' kind of bass.
  18. Well, this just ignited a serious gas leak.
  19. I am selling a PJ squier - beware the neck is a Jazz size. If you like P Bass then these may not be for you. The Vintage basses are good, but I would recommend a Bass Collection P Bass from the Bass Centre.
  20. Stunner. That's an absolute beauty.
  21. Love this
  22. Tell you what, with a modicum of pressure I could be persuaded to find out.
  23. The world could do with a few more like you. The amount of times people seem incapable of detecting the nuances of written conversations can be extremely vexing. Especially when their other contributions reveal them to be capable and intelligent people. It's almost as if they choose to interpret the demonstrably flippant as a serious factual statement.
  24. @scrumpymike I sold the Trace Elliot 🤦🏼‍♂️ The R.O.D is no more. How about I bring my Tri-amp Crossed Overthinking It Rig instead? And various bass curios.
  25. Couldn't agree more, I gasped when I got to the headstock shot. Didn't realise these used to have a more traditional shape. Looks like a lovely bass. Good luck with it.
