  1. Big fan of Vintage basses after picking one up here. This looks lovely. Good luck with your sale.
  2. First time I've ever seen one of these come up second hand. What a beauty! Cash only I presume?
  3. I had a couple of quid come in from work done before the apocalypse so bought myself a crossover. When I take a break from learning my modes and arpeggios I will be having enormous fun trying out various combinations of amps and cabs. Already got a plan for a three way!
  4. @ToolOfIgnorance Want to thank you again. I'm enrolled and on second of the videos from one of his courses. I already like his approach, I understand his explanations and I know I'm going to get a lot from this.
  5. I think I want a thumb rest on this bass I bought. I have a thumb rest which I applied with blue tack and I liked it. Blue tack is good but couldn't prevent me pushing the thumb rest over after ten minutes or so. I need a more 'permanent' temporary solution before I put holes in my instrument 😮 Any ideas what wouldn't be unkind to the finish? Hot glue? Sticky velcro? Double sided tape? Or should I simply man up and bang a couple of screws in there?
  6. I know. And there is something about a P Bass / jazz bass matching pair isn't there? However the gigs which might have funded such luxuries are all cancelled.
  7. Ah, just scratched my white bass itch. Good luck with your sale.
  8. Ay ay ay. I'm not supposed to like A)Jazz basses or B) maple boards. But this? Yum.
  9. I have one of these for sale in the local 2nd hand shop. I'm going to bring it back, it's such a great instrument, and I'll have time to play with it over the coming months
  10. I've had a few with varying degrees of quality! I'm usually so delighted not having to hump gear that I don't mind if it's a shoe box with a drawing of a cab on it. The most shocking one was a lovely looking old Carlsboro combo. It kind of looked a bit like a cross between a rolltop desk and a cooker and either would have sounded better. I assume I was the last person to use it before the trip to the skip. Again my gear was in the car but I was out of there so easily and quickly. Get paid, get out and don't hurt your back!
  11. The only problem I have is my 10 year old pc just ain't up to the job. I get the latency down and the i/o goes up. If you have fast internet and a relatively decent machine with all appropriate drivers I can highly recommend it.
  12. A couple of my bands have started using the Jamkazam app which works very well. No different from being in a studio in separate rooms - except we can see each other on screen. However I'm suffering latency issues and unhelpfully their help page is broken. Anyone know how to improve the latency in my system? Both the jitters are fine and it says the system is fine but my latency is too high. I managed but with the others a nano beat late in my ears - well, it was a feat of skill to play at all!!! I am using fibre and connected via ethernet.
  13. A pleasure to deal with Paul. We didn't actually meet but used @cetera as an intermediary, both he and I employing strict quarantine discipline. Thanks Paul you're a fine Basschatter and a fine human to boot Similarly thank you @cetera hopefully next time I'll be able to shake your hand. 😷
  14. Whoops! You are quite correct, I muddled my Harleys. Sorry
  15. I can't choose. I'm going to use this period of isolation to play them all! Whichever ones get least use will hit the marketplace when the plague has passed.
  16. Hi JW, you can get this on Amazon. Same product different label https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07JNDWQRN/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_hJFCEbAAGH7N3
  17. Ef Ef Ess. Bands eh! Still with your little one taking priority you can forget all about it for a while
  18. Absolutely the best thing I've seen in a very long time.
