Thanks man. I suspected you'd know! So I need to buy an FI then. It's as good an excuse as ever 😄

Harley Benton MV-4M Mustang-like bass. £198. Opinions?
stewblack replied to solo4652's topic in Bass Guitars
I just bought one of these HB Mustangs 2nd hand assuming they were permanently discontinued. However, this is a different spec so I expect to get one once I can decide on the colour. -
Never tried the Warwick but I regularly gig with two of the Trace Elf 1x10 cabs. They get the job done 👌

The double ended cable recommended by @lidl e works like a charm. However I now find myself wanting to connect to a computer to label presets. So I shall experiment with some adapters...

Scored one for 319 quid Thomann b-stock. I caved in. I'm a weak man.

After an air raid siren like the one at the start of Blockbuster or in the middle of Jailbreak. Can the C4 do it? Or is there another fiendishly clever way?

Monthly Bandeoke in Warminster last night. Dep guitarist was a tiny bit enthusiastic for my tastes but played well which is all that matters. I used this lot That's Jordan. He's a drummer. He deserves pity rather than censure.

Yes indeed, adding the missing pedal is always an option with these units. Does kind of negate their main purpose as an all in one solution of course.

Hmm. If you'd not said the synth sounds were poor I would definitely have bought one. Given how good the SY-1 is it seems odd. I use many synth sounds live so it's kind of a deal breaker. Are they like the old Boss synth pedals?

I'm interested in combining a Zoom pedal with a midi controller. It can be done with this Assuming the longer cable is just a standard USB A to USB Mini-B cable of which I have many, is there anything fancy about the short cable or does it simply adapt the cable to produce one cable with a Mini-B at either end?

Very simple in this instance. One loop clean, the other with the star shaped distortion pedal. Just to give me a completely clean blend with the dirt

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?

Yeah. That's definitely a good plan. I used to be in The More Specials and we played a load of scooter rallies -

stewblack replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
Don't usually get to post here as I generally try to avoid rehearsals. However one of my bands is changing direction which necessitates learning a new set, so we got together to make a start. We're switching to an all northern soul set in a bid to get off the pub circuit, aka the Eternal Valerie Chore. Last night we added four tunes, one each from Dobie Gray, Brenton Wood, Shirley Ellis, and The Four Seasons. Nothing challenging bass wise, but all fun to play. Need to get my backing vocal game up to speed now 😬 -

If my dusty memory serves, Carlsboro were the poor man's Trace Elliot. I was certainly a poor man who wanted a Trace but had a Cobra 90. I seen to recall it had an on/off compressor built in which so comprehensively killed the sound it put me off compression for life. At least I thought it had. Until Basschat came along and now I own enough compressors to build a scale model of the Great Wall Of China. Anyway, back in the innocent days of my youth the Carlsboro was great. We simply weren't fussy, didn't have the option to be. Years later I upgraded from 90 Carlsboro watts to a Trace 130 watt combo. It was fifteen times louder, and 100% better sounding.
