  1. Gorgeous colour combination. Love the fiesta red / tort plate. Good luck with your sale.
  2. ...and sometimes you just grin, bear it and think of the money.
  3. Having a miserable time in the for sale side of Basschat at the moment. Had a buyer pull out at the 11th hour, a bass returned for refund, no positive feedback because a delivery was late and no acknowledgement when I refunded the delivery cost, looks like a pedal is coming back as well now. It's just a run of bad luck I know but I'm the kind of buyer who never complains, just take it on the chin if something isn't quite what I expected. I know this doesn't mean I should expect others to be the same, but my goodness it tests my serenity. Time to meditate I think.
  4. Incredibly fast Basschatter. I bought a pedal and it arrived in perfect condition, expertly packed virtually before I'd finished responding to the for sale ad! Highly recommended for an entirely pain free bit of bass trading.
  5. Hmm, let me think about it.
  6. You have entirely fixed my moral dilemma. Thank you!
  7. I would not have known what was wrong with that bass unless I'd read the thread. I am so lucky not to be afflicted in this way. I know from experience that @hiram.k.hackenbacker can spot a misaligned bridge or neck a mile away. He pointed out to me that a bass I'd bought was afflicted in this way just from looking at a picture. I would never have known otherwise. Luckly it was an easy fix.
  8. My Harley B obsession continues unabated. Just landed one of these beauties However there is a catch. Nothing wrong with the bass. The HB quality is evident throughout, B-stock (as is my preference) but I can't find a damn thing wrong with it anywhere. The problem is I made a promise to myself to fund any bass related purchases purely from sales. The bulk of this particular transaction was made possible by the sale of a bass the remainder from a couple of pedals. But the bass I sold is coming back. My fault, no blame attached to the buyer whatsoever, but I have refunded the money. So, before I take a drill and some filler to this for the obligatory strap button relocation operation, I ought to take advantage of Thomann and their 30 days no quibble returns policy. Didn't I? But my god this is a lovely instrument.
  9. I prefer to buy second hand or if buying new I'll go for B-stock for this very reason. If its already less than perfect I don't have to be too precious about it.
  10. Looks really nice. I've a soft spot for a black /rosewood P. But I have too many of them already. Love what you've done with the wishy washy headstock. GLWTS
  11. So often it's something vibrating. I had a farting sound started up last night and turned out to be a lead c®apping out. Never easy to work out the cause
  12. This is so true. I have been a Carl many times in the past, taking offence, flouncing out, nice as nine pence in the early days then a gloomy storm front dragging everyone down thereafter. I try really hard not to be a Carl these days, but it is a struggle sometimes.
  13. I didn't know Eddie played bass. And the ugliest example of the instrument I've ever seen!
  14. My achilles tendon snapped a week before gigging started with a new band. I was in plaster to the hip, not allowed to weight bear on it so on crutches and some pretty debilitating pain killers. Played sat on a stool for the first few gigs. Not cool.
  15. Closest I've been to this situation was a couple of years back. It wasn't nearly as bad but my response to it was important. I was promised an audition which never happened, just didn't hear back... until... I got a call saying they hadn't bothered to audition me or anybody else as their regular dep has changed his mind and decided he wanted the full time gig. However he wasn't available for new years eve and could I maybe step in? Oh and it doesn't pay very well, it's for a pub which lets us rehearse for free so we play cut price for them. I could have said all sorts of rude things but I didn't I took the gig and gave depped for them many times since, am in a band with the singer who also got me a regular gig in another band with her recommendation. So yeah, stay cool, keep the contact, you never know.
  16. Another couple of deals gone pear shaped so knocking a bit off this one. now £675
  17. 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️
  18. Right so, these are two for 6 quid the bungee ball loops are 25 for 9 quid or 20 for 7 quid. Although like @Stub Mandrel my first thought was either a coat hanger or ten minutes on a jigsaw..
  19. Elasticated ball loops are quite an eye opener too.
  20. Hard to say. It's quieter than some louder than others. Certainly I can hear it but not over my playing even at low volume levels. I'm intrigued by your other question a out two master volumes, can you explain maybe with some pictures?
