  1. Other than that the season going well so far?
  2. Yep I read through them all. Wondering how the two heads compare, how much the HB will cost chances of finding one second hand if new prices are too high, that kind of thing
  3. Guys thinking of maybe replacing my SVT, like me it has weight issues. Intrigued by these amps. Thoughts?
  4. You weren't moaning at all just understandably upset. But a happy ending, good for you.
  5. I have a new octave pedal making its way to me. I'll let you know how it performs when it arrives. Hopefully on Sunday.

I never knew it could be so much fun
  7. They're good stands, I have one, but no case...
  8. Slightly more conventional, a work in progress, for when I'm biamping, some effects sent to the 'treble' amp and some to the 'bass' amp, some to both. Time to make patch cables
  9. Still need to do the lid, it's in the R&D stage right now. Here is the board/case. The beauty of this material, apart from it being beautiful in and of itself, is its lightweight construction, very easy to work with, relatively inexpensive, and extremely simple to repair. As time goes by and with each additional strip of tape it becomes not only more robust but also increasingly resistant to rain and spillages. Enough if the sales pitch, here you go
  10. My amp tech just messaged to tell me how great Ashdown have been as he wrestles with my CTM100. So yeah, I endorse them happily.
  11. I actually use the ratchet straps. Keeps all together on my dolly for a speedy exit.

verb (used without object), ped·aled, ped·al·ing or (especially British) ped·alled, ped·al·ling. 1 to work or use the pedals, as in playing an organ or propelling a bicycle. 2 to spend the entire day farking about with effects instead of learning the Christmas songs you need for the weekend.
  13. This is what Basschat is all about. Come on who's next? Surrey to Wiltshire maybe?
  14. I began using Ashdown based purely on comments like those of the op. Legendary service to customers.
  15. What about B1-4? Know of any cheap deals?
  16. I think this is genius. You should go into production!
  17. You are in two bands I would love to play with. Only met Simon once, but what a lovely guy 😞
  18. My main gig I got when I answered a Join My Band advert. No response, I didn't do Facebook but my singer did so she tracked down the BL and said hey this guy is awesome and wants to join but you haven't got back to him. They already had a bassist but I helped BL out with an open mic No money 1 1/2 hour drive but I did it. Her bassist couldn't do a bunch of dates, she let the guy go and hired me. Moral? Put yourself out for people, help them and accept help from others.
  19. Old friend from way back formed a band three years ago with a bunch of guys, some I'd played with some I hadn't. I was asked but I'd had issues in the past with some of the line up so I declined. This time last year he was stuck. They'd sacked the bassist and could I dep for them. Line up substantially different now, I stood in for one gig, they stopped looking for a bassist! Doesn't earn, 7 piece playing original material , but it's a damn good band, I love the BL and his songs are absolutely top class. The atmosphere in the group is excellent and gigs are a hoot.
  20. Soul band I'm in comprises me and three members of a previous band. I walked after BL's idiosyncratic behaviour became unbearable and keys, voice and drums followed me. There was a wedding in the diary, which the keys guy had organised so we decided to do it with the 'new' band. Went down a storm so we had a chat and decided to keep it going. No guitarist is just wonderful, really refreshing change.
  21. An occasional band (gigs every couple of months, never rehearses) I'm in grew out of people I met at an open mic night. We jam stuff out on Sunday afternoons in any pub that will have us, encouraging the locals to bring an instrument and join in if they so wish. Great skin of the teeth stuff, often play songs I've never heard of.
  22. One band I dep for I first approached in response to a Join My Band advert. They promised an audition but ended up giving the job to their dep. Made sense for them. Problem was he wasn't available New Years Eve, nor was anyone else. Sheepishly they emailed me, hey you know you never heard back from us, never got the audition we promised... don't suppose you can bail us out on New year's eve? Oh the money is sh/TE by the way.. The singer is now my best mate, we're in a different band together and I'm her go to guy for any dep work, and the job is mine if the regular guy ever leaves. Moral? Pride doesn't get you the gig. Being helpful and selfless goes a very very long way.
  23. No argument from me. Some folk here have opinions, some of which I agree with, you just speak in incontrovertible facts.
