  1. Is there someone we can go and see?
  2. Quite scary how much I want this when I already have one all tube head I can't lift and one I just got in a trade. Something horribly wrong with me
  3. I'd report you for that if you weren't already a mod
  4. Line 6 G75. Anyone have any idea how to attach the transmitter to a guitar strap?
  5. When I finally amassed enough gear to actually be able to sell some of it, I havered over paying to advertise it here. How much would I have to charge per item to make back my £20. Then I had a bit of a word with myself. Basschat is worth the £20 regardless of whether I buy and sell here. The advice, companionship, inspiration and ideas are worth a sight more in fact.
  6. This all happened a long time ago so i don't think I'm in danger of upsetting anyone if by a chance they stumble upon it. My tale is more a case of why I didn't quit much earlier! BL was a boorish, ill mannered fellow who couldn't play in time if doing so would save his kids from drowning. I was so amazed by his stinking attitude only a couple of weeks into joining that I and another member who joined with me had a chat with the drummer to ask hey - what gives? Apparently every single person who had ever joined (except the drummer who had observed all of this) had quit because of the truculent, intransigent and downright odd attitude of the guy. Once (before this drummer's time) the entire band left him and carried on. This was his band remember. He was basically sacked from his own band. So I determined to be the guy who could make it work. Out of bloody mindedness more than anything. He beat me in the end though. I realised that what appeared to be a curious inability to understand other people on any level or to accommodate them, actually hid something a little more, shall we say, sinister. So I bailed. If ever someone should have been a solo artist it was that guy. .
  7. Well, I was at in a meeting recently and who should be sat opposite me but who played the with . Even younger readers will have heard of . Just about one of the most famousist bands on the planet. Given the strict code of anonymity governing the particular organisation to which I belong some of the specifics have been deleted from this post, but hey - still a heck of an anecdote I think you'll agree. Oh and I regularly see there as well, not as famous as he once was but highly influential back in the day.
  8. I have read this topic with interest and on reflection with some ill conceived snobbery. What is wrong with people, I mused, getting their knicknacks in a knot over the look of an amplifier. Throwing out subjectivity as if it had any basis in fact - and these people are artists for goodness sake. Then I remembered never considering buying Ashdown despite them being UK made, with a bona fide Trace Elliot connection, second to none customer service, and widely respected for their sound and durability. Why? I didn't like the colour. That insipid blue. Can't be very good can they? Oh and the logo looks, well, a bit homemade (yes I know), and that curious knob/slider can't decide which so let's have both arrangement. So I raised my nose in the air and minced away from the entire range. What a prat. Funny how much better their amps look now I use two of them.
  9. I was going to say different pa but you know what? I realise I've not gigged with my other bands for a while now, it might be the same pa. As to the nature of the shock I don't hang around long when it happens, I tend instinctively to recoil. I can shock other people when it happens by the way. Just touch exposed flesh and Zap!
  10. While I haven't played a JC I do have a semi (steady) which looks great. As we're on the topic has anyone found a solution for the the the body tilts forward on these?
  11. Never been asked, mind you most of my work is bargain basement gigs
