  1. Vinegar and bicarb make a powerful cleaning combination
  2. I'm down your way end of next month hopefully you will have sold this before then and I'll still have £200 in my bank
  3. Read some reviewers complaining about sleep mode kicking in between songs and the unit taking too long yo wake up. Can you tell me how long does it wait before going to sleep mode?
  4. Love it when Basschat introduces me to new music. Thank you @PawelG
  5. Sorry I had missed that detail! I think I followed Stevie's link to the corner pieces. Again apologies for what must have seemed a rude response earlier. Not intended to be.
  6. I thought it was a joke. Sorry. I was trying to be funny back. What is all this ki- business?
  7. And no it was never what you'd call 'bright' but thump? Oh yes it has thump.
  8. Dammit. Is that my bass? I want it back now.
  9. I've started! My corner pieces have arrived. I shall select a drawer and it shall be filled with bits for the cab build.
  10. Great little combos these. I use the 2x8 version for rehearsal and small gigs. Paired with a second cab its very impressive. However where it really surprised me was at a venue which turned out to be much bigger than I'd been led to believe. No FOH support and no second cab. Four other instrumentalists and a full drum kit. I had no option but to crank it and it coped brilliantly. Anyway, just saying in case anyone is wondering about this combo.
  11. Haha, be a long time before I can A) afford a t shirt and B) fit into a large anyway
  12. First band I ever saw live. Scott Gorham, Brian Robertson era. One of the memories I shall carry with me to the end.
  13. As far as wearing t-shirts with stuff written on them, well why on earth not? If I wear a shirt with Joe Dart on, which by the way is merely a nod to their videos where they often subtitle shots with their names, and it draws a fellow Vulf follower into conversation with me then that's great. I get to chat with someone new with whom I have a shared interest.
  14. I disagree that your opinion is worthless but admire your modesty. You raise some interesting points. As I get older I hear more and more stuff come around and around again. If a modern band are clearly channeling the Jam, or the Specials or any other favourites from my era I invariably feel similar and see them as lame, inauthentic copies of the real thing. Of course people who were teenage mods in the sixties almost certainly said the same thing about the Jam and the Specials. I'm in the happy position with Vulfpeck where I love them, their songs, musicality, influences and above all their humour, but I also love the old school examples you shared above. I suspect this is because I had very little time for funk in the 70s so as a late convert I don't feel any special bond with the originals.
  15. For preference I go straight into a valve amp and use my fingers to vary my sound and dynamics. However I also can't resist effects pedals. I blow hot and cold though. At the moment I'm building up my pedal collection again and using up hours of valuable rehearsal time messing with them. I'm now up to 3 pedal boards but I bet in 6 months time I'll be fed up of all the extra faffing around and be back to a bass, a cable and an amp.
  16. Why do you think I have a point? It's a funny line, so I shared it.
  17. Yeah that isn't the point though, not on this thread.
  18. Are you keen on effects and pedalboards? “I don’t do tap-dancing.”
  19. Because it brings them joy. I'm only guessing of course.
  20. I bought a valve distortion pedal before discovering the presence of the tube in my Ashdown. So I shall have double the grind now!
