  1. I appreciate your positive vibes - thanks man. But I do the pa 😅😅
  2. Sorry I meant I did away with my amp and cab. So if they wanted bass they had to ask for it
  3. How much are you valued by your bandmates? This has been a recurring theme of mine at recent gigs. Last night I changed the set up and put everything through the pa, no backline for me, just a monitor. The singer gave the sound a big thumbs up in soundcheck, and away we went. Guess what? Not one member of the band asked for bass in their foldback. This isn't always the case - some of my bands love the bass, but last night's bunch, not so much. Audience enjoyed the evening and I got paid.
  4. I'll attend to it
  5. I'm after a low gain overdrive, not a special effect but an always on pedal to gently warm and break up my clean sound. I've tried (and liked) several, but get them in a band mix, and they all add an unlooked for 'fizz' to the sound. This Genzler pedal is the latest in a long line. Ticks all the boxes: clean mix, controls for amount of drive and level, a switch to increase / decrease drive sensitivity, and four different drive intensities. But the joker in this already impressive pack is the tone control. Two filters, one high pass, one low pass. Could this be the solution to my fizzy problem? Well, I'll let you know after the weekend, but the early indications are very promising.
  6. I had no idea my remark was in anything other than a personal observation. I'll delete the comment .
  7. Private party in a marquee last night. The whole thing overran so the guests were fairly far gone by the time we went on, but we won them round. I used the Trace Elliot on my Zoom B6 as a preamp DI and it sounded to my ears very nice indeed. Paid and home just after midnight. Win.
  8. I wish you luck. It's actually good fun and if you avoid bring impatient and a fat fingered clutz like me you'll be fine
  9. None of you are helping in any way. You do know that?
  10. I have a glam rock gig in October this would cost twice my fee, but the twisted logic of the GAS addled bassist still makes this very tempting.
  11. The ending...is pending 🤦‍♂️. The neck snapped, the new truss rod was too long, I lost heart and put it all away. But... I soaked the split from the inside with super glue before putting it away so it might be stable enough for me to revisit the whole thing
  12. Such an amazing pedal. Snap this up.
  13. I gig mine regularly. Never felt any need to change it. Great bass.
  14. Played somewhere in the Cotswolds last night. Aren't satnavs great? Started the day in Charmouth and several hours later ended up headlining an event somewhere else. Just bunged in the what three words link and headed off. Modern gigging. Don't even need to know where you are, where you've been or where you're going
  15. Having owned three different Ashdown amps, the only similarity with the Behringer is the meter.
  16. I've mentioned this one before in a similar thread, but the Behringer BX4500H deserves another nomination. I gigged mine again on Thursday and was reminded just how solid it is. Incredibly flexible, every tonal configuration imaginable, loud and clear. I've been underwhelmed by other Behringer heads, but not by this one. It's easily one of my all time favourites.
  17. I don't have holidays (I'm a musician so obviously I can't afford them) but I stayed with my daughter for a couple of days after giving her a lift to a caravan site. Did I miss my bass? No. I took one with me of course.
  18. Like most professional musicians money is the overriding concern So I drive the smallest most economical car I can get my gear into
  19. Thank you. He was just curious I'm not messing with it.
  20. Absolutely brilliant pedals. Unlike anything else I've tried.
