  1. Good stuff, glad to see a problem being resolved - well done @alexclaber and @Huge Hands. It would be nice if others didn't feel the need for negative sniping, never achieves anything good. The world needs more love not people competing to see who can be most outraged or sarcastic. Only my opinion of course, I respect everyone else's right to live how they want to.
  2. But should I add the hardware or not? I think it looks great then I think the bass doesn't need any holes drilling in it...
  3. It's an awesome idea. I want to cycle to rehearsal, use the in house amp carrying only a bass with me and this could be the answer. Annoyingly my singer has offered to bring a bass in her car as she stores a couple of mine for me at her house. This of course renders my crazy ideas about folding basses redundant. But for gigs on public transport... Maybe..
  4. Don't know if any of you have heard of the baking soda / super glue trick but here it is...
  5. Coming up to the big city to see this wonderful band in April. Does anyone have any idea what time gigs tend to finish at the Palladium? Can't afford the petrol / rely on my car so will be on the bus. Trying to book my ticket but I'm faced with the stark choice of catching the 11 o'clock bus (leave the venue 10.30 at the absolute latest) or the midnight bus. Problem is if I end up on the midnight bus I don't get home until 5am whereas the 11pm arrives in Bath at 1.40. The only other option is to hang around London till 1.30am and that bus gets in at the same time as the midnight one!! At least option 3 means I wouldn't miss any of the gig. Can't find any information about times except doors open at 7.00 - what would be the best guess for finish time?
  6. Rothko helped me to give up drugs
  7. Instant love at first sight when I unwrapped this beautiful bass. When I played it I knew it was the one. Would I be insane to put anything on it? Had some chrome bits lying around...
  8. Thanks Paddy! Think pink suits me?
  9. Honestly no need to apologise, my comment was tongue in cheek.
  10. As the OP I'm amused with the hijack - not bothered at all. It's the way of this forum, things evolve. In any case I have had the answer I required so let the BF wars commence...
  11. Hi Mario. At the moment I'm only looking for a trade. I'll get in touch if anything changes.
  12. Thanks mate. I really love it. Everyone seems to say that they are reluctant to sell, usually makes me raise my eyebrows but I genuinely hate to part with this one.
  13. I'm just starting to learn about modes and scales and chord tones and such. It is fascinating, eye opening, fun, difficult, confusing, rewarding and educational in roughly equal parts. But my goodness it has improved my bass playing.
  14. Wow I have made a hash of this - but at least I'm learning. My only defence is I was told it was midget gen 1 when I bought it and having no experience of BF cabs I had no reason to doubt this. The 12" I put down to never measuring it just being amazed by how tiny it is and assuming it was 10" Thank you both. Of course I now don't know if I want a gen 1 gen 2 or gen X as a trade. I've totally lost confidence. However this is such a majorly long shot that someone wants precisely this trade that I don't suppose it matters all that much. 😬
  15. And thank you machinehead for similar. The overhang is 5 inches. Too much for me!
  16. Oh my - I really am showing myself up aren't I? So sorry I've been writing 10 and not 12 all through - thank you @barkin how you spotted that when I've always missed it I'll never know. I suppose it's such a crazy small cab I just assumed it was a 1 X 10 and never measured it.
  17. That's a real shame - I only heard of BF thanks to this place. I often wonder why people derive so much pleasure from negativity.
  18. Sorry Paul, thank you for your answer.
  19. Ha ha - that sounds just the kind of thing I would do. Thanks for indulging me.
  20. Down to £590, something else I want may go soon so don't delay buy this today. I wanted one, I got one, I loved it, I'm selling it. This is what @zander71 had to say about it when I bought it late last year and nothing has changed since. In fact I only gigged it once: "Looking to sell ... this lovely 60's re-issue jazz bass. I believe this is a 62 model although it has the separate pickup volume controls. It's a "crafted in Japan" version and is from 2004-5 according to the R serial number. It's has no issues and is set up low and fast. A few bumps and dinks as would be expected of a 14 year old guitar. Weighs between 8.5/9lb." I reproduce these comments as I don't know anything more than that! I'm faced with a straight choice, sell bass equipment or don't get my car fixed. No car = no gigs so it's kind of a no brainer really. Sorry looking dog not included. I'm in North somerset but always happy to meet folk half way. Be silly to trust this with Hermes wouldn't it? Anyhoo you don't care about all this - you know the price you just want to drool over the pics don't you?
