  1. I wonder how much my back problems are down to lifting and carrying those heavy old cabs around in my younger days
  2. Yeah, I don't always do it but it's fun, and I bought the crossover so....
  3. Tonight Matthew I am mostly going as a bi-amping basslord. Crossover sending the low end to the old Trace amp and new Trace cabs, while the high end goes to the TC Electronic. Nice.
  4. The effects loop can be moved around. I guess I'm asking before or after the 'amp' in the multi effects
  5. Yes. Bizarrely when playing in a tribute. I even told the guy we are not the actual band, but he didn't care. We were his favourite group and he wanted us to sign a poster for him. 🤷‍♂️
  6. I have found I like to have certain pedals in the effects loop of my amp and others between the bass and the amp input. Call me crazy if you will, but it's how I roll. Now, imagine using a multi effects unit with an effects loop. How do I simulate to his set up? In other words if I'm using the multi as an amp and the actual amp just for oomph (typically by plugging into the amp's return socket) where in the chain do I place the two different effects?
  7. Private party in darkest Somerset. Usual thing, enthusiastic crowd, dancing and singing. I used my Trace head and Barefaced cabs and jolly good they sounded.
  8. Not that I've noticed. And I have noticed this with other multi effects pedals.
  9. Yep. MXR know what they're doing octave wise
  10. Jason is becoming a favourite seller of mine! He seems to advertise just what I'm after and at a fair price. This time it was a pedal which arrived so fast it nearly burned the postman's fingers. Perfectly packed, exactly as described, just the job. Thank you once again to an excellent Basschatter.
  11. I knew I wanted to try this pedal as soon as I saw it. I've been patient, and waited for a second hand one to pop up. First impression - it's amazing. It's so much more than just an octave pedal. Example; it's a phaser. Subtle and delicate until you punch the mono button when it becomes rich, and gooey. It's a filthy fuzz, if you punch the fuzz button. If you punch both it's a gloriously disgusting phaser. Use the sub 1 and punch mono it's an OC2 type synth. Add fuzz and modulation it's a full on bass synth. Dial in some of the other available octaves (there's 4 and a clean ) and it's a monster synth. Take out the mono and fuzz and it's a much more clean usable mix of octaves. It sounds so very good. Only downside is the crazy bright light rendering the controls virtually invisible. But that's an easy fix. Other than that I cannot find any fault. Its small size is a win when your board groans beneath the weight of pedals, it looks sexy as hell, it doesn't introduce unwanted noise, it's many pedals in one. Well done MXR.
  12. Following an annoying gig where a previously silent pedal board became a noise monster the moment I plugged it into the venue's power, I realised something must be done. I toyed with the EHX Hum Debugger, but unsure whether it was what I needed, I felt the price (and size) made it an expensive gamble. An intensive internet search threw up this and for 12 quid it seemed worth a punt. 2 channels, so in theory double bubble, small, light, no power needed, 1/4" jack sockets - all good right? Well, so far so good. The noise tends only to rear it's ugly head at a gig (s0ds law) so I can't be 100% sure. However, I used my nastiest power supply, cheapest cables and two pedals notorious for adding noise to my chain. Turned the amp up full and used a non humbucking pickup. The noise went. The sound was unaltered. Win... So far.
  13. The 2 Elf 1 x 10 cabs I use are phenomenally loud, sound amazing, fill the room and keep up with a loud drummer and guitarist. I don't give a rat's for the maths or what you can 'prove' on paper. They're monsters. Oh and I own and regularly gig with Barefaced cabs. These easily hold their own in comparison and are far better made.
  14. I wondered about that too, but tons of folk have the same issue with the Ampero, and plenty of other pedals connect ok to the pc. I have got the Widi working so I can use my tablet but the alligator is still causing me problems. The computer either doesn't know I've connected anything or it knows but says that the hardware has failed in some way. All sorted now, just a little fiddly at first.
  15. Anyone got one of these able to advise me? Can't connect to my PC so unable to use the software to edit it. Also unable to connect to my tablet (android) via the Widi Jack. Driving me mildly insane having spent two days on this....
