All I will say is that when I owned a metal coned Berhinger cab it blew out after 2 rehearsals, and I wasn't driving it hard either. Total waste of money.
What about the replacement they sent did that hold up? The problem is each person's experience is different. Based purely on my own experience second hand Trace gear is total crap, falls apart, is noisy and the speaker blows and needs replacing, whilst Behringer sounds better and is built to last. Now I know that isn't true of all Trace gear - of course not, it is one person one amp. Taking other people's recommendations is a total waste of time it's what you buy and what suits you that matters and there's only one way to find out.
Go second hand Peavey. Great tone and you'll get a workout lugging it about.
I do have to say, as much as I love my Behringer cab, the Peavey kit I've owned is bomb proof in terms of build and reliability.
Hi All, Has anyone got / had this problem with a Jap Precision ( mine is a 1986 ) ...... Strings G , D, A all sound great, nice growl, nice definition of the notes......... Bottom E crap, the notes are there, just do not sound as nice as the other strings, Ive changed string manufacturers ( Warwick, GHS, Rotosound etc ) but it is still the same ! I don`t have this problem with my Warwick Proline Corvette ( 1992 ) or my Warwick fretless ! Any help appreciated ...... Pete
Had this with my 1983 Aria and it was the first sign of the onset of pick up death. I got a new one from Kent Armstrong. Not saying yours is necessarily the same.
i think i'm gonna be beaten to those T.E cabs anyway cos it will take me more than a month to earn enough dough! i had heard that behringer cabs are good but need reassuring, wont blow up is allways a good sign! would it be usable if i used a combo amp as a head like for example my Roland cube?
That depends on the amp. Some have outputs for extension speakers but check what it says on the back of the amp, and make sure the impedances match.
i was going to by a trace elliot cab but it has come to my attention that i am too poor instead i would like to go for this instead the Behringer ultra bass BA410 i will of course be buying a head of some sort but i haven't decided what yet, anybody got one/ used one? if so tell me whats good and bad please and if it's terrible whats an allternative thats affordable (around the same price of this kit on GAK) Behringer BA 410
You'll get mixed reviews on Behringer stuff but for what it's worth my BA4X10 has never let me down sounds great and so far has refused to blow up. I also use an Epifani 2X10cab with it (or instead of for small gigs) and there is no marked difference between the two in terms of quality. And yes I've used TE and a whole host of other stuff down through the years and wouldn't swap my BA4X10 for any of it. Oh - I bought mine through GAK, as they were by far the cheapest, but by Jimminy were they slow delivering. It got here in the end though.

OK. My name = mud. Here goes. The big pile of orange rings carefully separated from their swing tops and left out to be gazed at lovingly before putting somewhere safe have been mysteriously 'vanished' from our house. A handful survived thanks to my untidiness (which apparently is something to do with the strange disappearance of the rest) (I name no names here for my own safety) so a few lucky readers will still get some but the big give away is now much more limited.

Drummer friend of mine gave me an old drumcase to use for leads and stuff. Opened it up and there must have been a hundred grolsch strap locks in there. He was utterly baffled as I danced around the room. I'm gonna save a pair and a spare pair for each of my basses but this is Basschat so a SAE gets you a pair. PM me for details.
smashing people run the place and sort the sound etc....
Must have changed hands since I played there then. Mind you that was a couple of years ago now.
There was a Kay case in the vintage music shop in Bath. I don't think it was for sale but the figure £350 is popping into my head for some reason. It was pink with yellow stripes (I think) though.
If it was Rare & Vintage or however they style themselves it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to sell a tennis racket with broken strings for £2000 -

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Dave is a really genuine, helpful and friendly guy and his work is of a very high standard. I like to play with my equipment facing the wrong way just to show off the cables he's made for me. Top, top bloke.

Well they've kicked my ass off eBay!

Well I received my Nautilus today and have to say that it is an excellent looking piece o0f kit. If I'm honest a little bit of wee came out when I opened it. It's gorgeous. -
What? £150 for one of those sh*tey black cases? Christ I think I'm going to sell that one then and buy a Hiscox and something nice with the profits! That Westone is long gone now
Ah - I come to the conclusion that I misrepresented myself - I meant the guitar. Apologies. -
Excellent to do business with and firmly intend so to do again.
In my experience, Shine basses have been great VFM.
Thanks for the review - this is the 6er I've been toying with getting, and I have a great guitar tech just up the road who I swear could raise the dead and make them sing in tune.
I'm trying to think of other things that have been invented and not changed much at all because they were just great to begin with... having no luck...
Apart from the wheel, I know what you mean!
Does anyone know if the V-Amp or V-Amp pro is able to produce the same/similar effect to the BDi 21? Ta, paul.
I use the Vamp pro but haven't used the Bdi so not sure but the vamp does loads so I can't imagine there's much it won't do.
What? 150? What? *Holds heart, then head, then heart again, then sits down* I don't think that's an original case - I had an original Westone case with mine which was a brown tolex and plywood job,
You are quite correct sir. And yes £150 - you heard me correctly sir. Your case is much nicer. I need a 2 and 3 to complete my collection. So lock your doors. -
Hi jhk and welcome and t'was me chatting away in 'Off Topic' that upset a couple of forum members so I'm sorry but it's my fault that no-one's posts in 'Off Topic' are counted
Yeah Mrs Tinman - it's all your fault.
EDIT: Maybe I should've been more specific...i'm not exactly in a band, it's more like just me and my friend (he's a guitarist) and I don't really know any drummers that I can work with...
Jay - even more important to focus on rhythm with the occasional 'flourish' as it were. If there's just you and a guitar then you are the whole rhythm section!! You could do some harmony stuff with your mate, if he's playing a riff ask him to show you it slowly and pick out some of the notes from his riff, that can sound really cool, but only as I say as a flourish, if both of you are off noodling a thousand notes a minute, well it might be fun to do but will sound baffling. Ah what the hell - if it's fun to do do it.
