  1. Can't speak for anyone else but I don't see anything offensive in that. The Jazz is the only HB bass I've ever had that was too heavy. However if he took out so much wood he made it neck dive that's on him!
  2. The only thing I hope is they have sorted the weight issue. The other jazzes already on their list are boat anchors.
  3. How the hell did I miss these? I want the red one and the green one and the pink one - but I still want to see the rest of the new one. Block inlays, different tuners... what will it be?
  4. His Bruceness in full flight. Pump It Up is an absolute favourite of mine
  5. Yep. But if I 'forget' about my daughter's wedding I might be able to afford both car and entirely unnecessary effect 🤔
  6. I shall get right on it. Thank you
  7. Thank you - that's a great one. I don't have a clue about the synths used - and I don't really care. But if others enjoy discussing it that's cool.
  8. EHX Micro synth, TCE Chorus, octaver and compressor.
  9. I spent a joyful afternoon playing along to Banananananarama's cover of Venus yesterday. Why? I hear you cry. Well I nailed the bass sound and it's a joy to play with that synthy almost percussive sound. So here's my Q to you. What other well known 80s pop hits employed the same, or at least similar, synth for their bass? I want to squeeze a few of them into our Bandeoke set if I can get away with it. I think its a Roland 303 - but to chaps of my vintage a 303 is a rifle so this is pure guesswork. If you don't know any well known ones just hit me with whatever you've got. Ta
  10. One of those strange social club gigs yesterday. They danced if they knew the song. Clapped politely from their seats otherwise. I swear this kind of punter wants a different band each weekend but playing the same set. Anyway, it was good to play and get paid.
  11. This one hasn't been released yet... So there is still hope I might make it to the second week
  12. Bought a power supply from @gnasher1993 and it arrived safe and sound precisely as described, well packaged and working as it should. I can't fault this most excellent Basschatter and am delighted to recommend him to the community
  13. I am filled with loathing for the chancers you see on eBay and Facebook advertising HBs for more than the retail price of a new one. People try to blame the victims for not doing proper research before they buy, but blaming the victim is shameful.
  14. Could be... I'm always hoping for something different. But it may be just a new colour. Even if it is, it's a lovely colour.
  15. Not seen one for sale lately 🤷‍♂️
  16. Do you know what? I'm not even sure which band it was. Time it seems does heal. I'm in much better bands now.
  17. I read the opening post, and gazed around my room at basses of every shape, type and size, and I thought; yep he's quite right really. I could lose the lot and lead an entirely fulfilling life as a bassist, with just such an instrument. Sunburst, tort, rosewood, precision. Beautiful.
