  1. I've not used it with active bass yet but I can give it a go and get back to you
  2. I shall get to it...
  3. I have played through the Digbeth at last year's SW Bass Bash and it's really sweet. Incredibly versatile and simple. I'm skint these days so settled for the preamp pedal, fed into the effects return of any amp it does the job. Highly recommended. However the best cabs I've played through without doubt are the LFSys built by our very own @stevie specifically because of the way they handle the high end.
  4. So, last night I combined my Behringer Octave divider with the B Tron and produced the most wonderful squelchy synth sound. Sat perfectly in the band mix. Two wonderful pedals for the price of a cup of coffee. Win!
  5. Pedal car 🤦 My excellent B-Tron III is in the loop of the Dual Phase, so effectively after phaser one and before phaser two. I can achieve the same effect with a single, much smaller pedal (my Pigtronix envelope phaser) but where's the fun in that?
  6. Wow. I used mine happily with quiet passive basses and really hot active basses. The gain works just fine. Sorry you had such a bad experience.
  7. Thomann provide 3m rolls of 50mm adhesive hook and loop at an unbeatable price. But not if you aren't putting a big order together. The postage rather kills the bargain otherwise. I found this on Amazon and the 2 star review got me thinking. The customer received two rolls both hook (or scratchy) and no loop (or furry). I have enough pedal boards, I simply won't need more furry any time soon. If the mistake wasn't a one off I'll be quids in here. The parcel arrived, and I did indeed receive two rolls of the stuff that goes on the back of the pedals. And it sticks like sh1t to a blanket. Really really good stuff. Too good not to share.
  8. I never got my free bass strings, and they have never responded to any emails.
  9. @bremen beat me to the gag, so I'll be boring and answer the question. It's a very powerful, very clean little amp. I used the Glow plug to roughen up my sound because it's so clean. What makes it special is the onboard compressor. A real high quality bit of kit.
  10. For Bandeoke this evening. Orange Little Bass Thing into Barefaced Midget/Compact stack. and on top of the amp my secret make it sound a bit rougher sauce
  11. I bought the original and I can confirm that it needed the clean blend. However I have yet to try the Lizard King
  12. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the quality of their products.
  13. I would like to echo these remarks. I have both and prefer the MOSFET, I find them quite different.
  14. People talked a lot of trash about the brand back in the day, that stuff seeps into us whether we like it or not.
  15. OK as promised a short clip of the Behringer B-Tron followed by the Red Rocket Tron lll. I thought I'd stick with the same riff used above. The first thing i noticed was the B-Tron is compressed quite significantly in comparison with the Tron lll. Just a glance at the waveforms after I recorded the clips showed way more dynamic change within the Red Rocket recording. The B-Tron was very square by comparison.
  16. Lovely. If I didn't need a new clutch in my car I'd have this.
  17. I was about to make a similar post. The Digbeth probably tips the balance for me, but the Tone Hammer is a great option too
  18. First band I ever saw live. Lizzy with the Gorham/Robertson axis. Colston Hall I think in '77. Astonishing and absolutely life changing for me. Followed not long after by Motorhead.
  19. Not yet. It came with rounds when I bought it so I'll let them wear out first
  20. My reggae bass is ready. Friend of mine gave it a makeover...
  21. Fabulous bass this. Balances beautifully on the strap, looks a million dollars.
  22. What bass is Phil sporting here please?
  23. I did three gigs with my sunburst HB JP450 yesterday, and it received a lot of compliments for it's look and sound. I have to say it was extremely easy on the shoulder after more than five hours of gigging and I had no problem getting a good sound at wildly differing venues.
