  1. Ooh. I've wanted to try one of these for a while now. Must resist...
  2. I took it to a band practise once just to see how it might keep up, didn't plan on using it for the whole rehearsal, but in the end I did! It was loud, and had a great sound. If they did a 250 - 300 watt version of this I'd be very interested.
  3. Entirely silent and yes it can be used without a speaker. The Bluetooth connectivity makes it a very good option for this.
  4. Out of all I've tried I would recommend the Boss SY-1.
  5. I've the fretted version of this and it's excellent. I gig with it often. Congratulations!
  6. The weight seems only to be an issue with the HB 5ers. The 4s are mostly very lightweight.
  7. Beastly has a great bit of Joe Dart soloing. But I agree with all the Entwistle suggestions above
  8. Effectively 3 pedals (four if you count the tuner) for 300 quid. Very neat, easy to edit on the fly. And if course it's actually way more than that with loads of great options. Enjoy
  9. Hi. The compressor is the Hypergravity. Among the available presets is one called Spectra. I'm going out on a limb and guessing it's what you're after. There are so many programmable parameters if you use the app that I can't believe it won't do what you want. However I don't have the spectra comp so can't say with 100% certainty.
  10. Being a fan of affordable pedals, I often take a punt on what looks too good to be true. Disproving the lazy cliché 'you get what you pay for' has long been an obsession of mine and would you know it, I've gone and done it again. With multiple applications the GEQ is a staple for many a bassist, whether thickening up a tone sucking drive, turning a run of the mill amp into a Trace Elliot, or just tweaking my overall sound to suit the idiosyncrasies of a room it's a great thing to have. Things I might have been expected to find: cheap case with tacky finish, horrible addition of hiss, very little obvious alteration to my sound, noisy controls, flimsy controls and a bit too big of a pedal. Instead it's silent, has all the key frequencies covered, the metal case is beautifully finished and the switch gives a satisfying clunk. The sliders are no more or less flimsy than any others and it's really compact. Oh and this new pedal was 23 quid delivered!
  11. A Wiltshire wedding in a beautiful setting. Lovely people, full dance floor all night, paid and home before one. Result.
  12. Well that sounds absolutely amazing
  13. Thank you guys. I didn't realise abbatar was a real word 😂😂
  14. Um. I literally have no idea what is being discussed so what do I search for?
  15. For those of us who don't follow the news is there a link to explain what is being discussed here please?
  16. I shall watch these videos with great interest. Thank you.
  17. WD40 is a great cleaner. However, with Harley Benton strings costing less than the price of a pint and sounding great, there is little point in boiling, washing, burning, snapping etc etc
  18. Interesting thread. It got me to thinking, when did I get my first P bass? I played Arias pretty much exclusively from the 80s through to turn of the century. I have a bunch of Ps now and love them all, but I think it is a fairly recent phenomenon. My Bruce Thomas Profile is the best one.
  19. Actually... and I'm being serious... petrol is a fantastic cleaner. For anyone, um, shall we say cerebrally challenged, I don't mean heated petrol.
