  1. Aha, thank you as ever @Quatschmacher for keeping us luddites in the loop. This is very interesting news actually.
  2. Met Graham for the traditional undercover police/drug deal/bass player meet up in a carpark. What a lovely chap. He was punctual, a pleasure to meet and paid up in cash. Happy to recommend this most excellent Basschatter.
  3. Sorry,bi know I must appear terminally thick, but what does this mean?
  4. I can confirm this is a great bit of kit. So many options, perfect for a biamped set up
  5. Well done, good luck and thank you. Hope to see you at the SW Bass bash this year.
  6. What @Doddy said. If you love computer programming and having to buy extra stuff, if you absolutely know you can nail the precise sounds you will need and not have to tweak them on stage then go for the C4, definitely. If you lack patience, computer skills or the time needed to learn them, I suggest you stay away. I've a whole board of SA pedals and never been able to gig them.
  7. I don't think I'd get it in my tiny toy car when carrying bass rig and PA. Which is a shame as it looks perfect. Ah well, my foldable, lightweight hand truck bought from Lidl 10 years ago will just have to continue to carry my load.
  8. I entirely agree @jimfist it's utterly subjective. I mix a small amount of octave up with my basic sound, and it works for that. also there is an 'analogue' octaver which does that OC2 thing rather well. Again in my opinion.
  9. Depped for a Madness tribute near Southampton last night. Was in a big social club with a predictably mixed audience of all ages. Sight read the whole thing, mostly successfully, only second time I've ever done this live. Bugera Veyron T, Barefaced, Bass Centre P. Great fun.
  10. I've gigged with it using one of the pitch shift options and it was absolutely fine
  11. For me it's a really simple one. I prefer John Entwistle because I am way more familiar with him, as I like the songs the Who play. I haven't ever made it through a whole Yes song. I'm sure I would like the bass if I did because I've worked with people who were huge Yes fans and they often said I played just like Chris Squire.
  12. I'm not familiar with this (I assume original) version, but I love the prominence of the bass. Exactly how a song should be mixed. Maybe with the vocals just a little quieter.
  13. Yes! BaMnPitch it's called. It's a doozy.
  14. If it's oiled, petrol is a good cleaner. Or WD40.
  15. Nope. Nothing at all 🤷‍♂️
  16. My Joyo Ironman board is complete. Tuner arrived this morning. Well. I might get the flanger and swap out one of the drives. My rule has been to buy all of them used, pay no more than £25 a pedal, or £30 including postage. On a Harley Benton Spaceship (the littlest one), the whole thing powered by a rechargeable battery pack. It sounds ace.
  17. Just got home from taking part in a Bandeoke. I suspect the sudden arctic chill had an impact on the audience numbers, but those there enjoyed it. I used my Bugera Veyron T, and it didn't just look lovely but sounded ace too. Put a Bass Centre P Bass into it via the Zoom B6. Oh my goodness that's a great pedal. The envelope filter I used was head and shoulders above any I've gigged with - and believe me I've had more than a few. So simple to tweak on the fly, and so many great sounds. I'm a very happy bunny. Nice to get paid on a Thursday too.
  18. It's a kind of sickness I know. But once I find a couple of nice pedals, I inevitably move towards getting as many as possible in the series. The Joyo Ironman range has never disappointed, which makes resisting a keenly priced example even harder. This sexy little black number claims to be an amp sim, but a simulation of what amp I couldn't say. I can however confirm it is a lovely, gnarly distortion, with a wide variety of overdrives, very similar to the larger California Sound. And yes, it's good with a bass thorough it.
  19. I'm relatively GAS free since buying the Zoom B6, honestly there's nothing it can't do and it will stand a lot of experimentation (play). However if I had another room and an unlimited budget: Catalinbread Coriolis Effect, GFI System Rossie Multi Filter, Catalinbread Zero Point Flanger, Boss SY-2, The Fart Pedal. I believe the world is divided into people who can't see the point in the Fart Pedal, and people who's immediate response to hearing about it, is that life is not worth living without one.
