  1. Sadly no. I came at this without expectations. The case is kind of no frills. Sticker on front otherwise unfinished but where it counts, the sound, it's awesome.
  2. I am not 100 percent to grips with all the controls yet. However I got a great sound from it. I can record clips if you like
  3. From the blurb: "There’s also a three-position sub-control switch, a treble tone control, adjustable pulse width, and a wide fuzz depth control"
  4. Edit Edited
  5. Gigged it last night. I like it a lot.
  6. A clone of the Zvex Mastotron, coming in at less than 50 quid, this is what bass player's fuzz dreams are made of. I've only just discovered Red Rocket Music. Don't know anything about them but I'm guessing they're a small business, UK based, and they make a bunch of copies, clones, tribute pedals - whatever you want to call them. I have two from their collection, and they both sit beautifully in the mix. The Mammoth has no loss of low end and a couple of ways to brighten up the signal if you don't want to descend into sludge. It produced a massive sound at tonight's gig and showed great versatility too, dialled back it just thickened things up, higher and it was monstrous.
  7. Glad to hear it's still going. Not played there for years but I enjoyed it when I did.
  8. This thread raises a question. How on earth do you remember them all? I can't remember the basses I have now never mind the ones I had 40 years ago
  9. Well I've been playing with it for a couple of days and it's a beauty. Fantastic down sweep. Bubbly, warm, liquid tones all the way through to synthy oddness. Considering how many envelope filters I already own I'm surprised to find one offering something different. It's not without it's idiosyncrasies; unusually labelled controls, and a depth control that goes too far - into distortion in fact. But it is so easy to get great sounds out of it that these quibbles are vanishingly small. Add to this Ian at Red Rocket Music is a very approachable and helpful guy.
  10. There's a TC Nether for 20 quid on FB now. Any octave pedal combined with fuzz or distortion and chorus will do tla job. The SA C4 is excellent but you have to be prepared to build your sounds on a screen and hope they work in the band
  11. Mines arriving today or tomorrow. I'll let you know.
  12. Yeah I hear you. I've got some high end basses and I've played some even higher, but my favourites have nothing to do with their label or their price. Others say differently and that's their prerogative, but how a bass feels in my hands, how it balances on a strap, how it sounds and how it talks to me are the only things that matter. The label and the price are utterly irrelevant.
  13. As others have said, I hope you're not suffering 🙏 Can I also say this bass is absolutely gorgeous and testing my will power to the maximum.
  14. If you're specifically interested in building your own synth sounds, I recommend the Poly Blue by MXR.
  15. One of the unsung heroes of the bass amp world. Unfairly dismissed because of snobbery, these amps are fantastic. I've gigged mine far and wide. Bet it sounds amazing with this cab.
  16. My worse was also my best. Confused? Don't be. I'll explain. Bought a bass here which turned out to be an absolute piece of firewood. Well, two pieces really, as the neck and body didn't go together at all. I also paid what was for me a lot of money for it. So - clearly the worst. But it has entirely cured me of GAS. I just think about it every time I see a bass that looks lovely. And I keep my money. So it's actually my best purchase.
  17. Oof. That is gorgeous.
  18. I would buy this for the precise reason you bought it Then not be able to get on with it for the precise reason you couldn't.
  19. I've only gigged it once. Used it with the 'ring' switch on. Very nice, tight, funky sound. It's slightly quirky, which I like, not in a crazy glitchy way, just enough to give it a little character. The bass switch cleans and warms up the sound giving a nice low synthy vibe. The only drawback is the volume is a little lower in bass only mode. But, and I mean this, it looks so very cool, and that's vital.
  20. Harley Benton I know. PSU in general, not so much.
  21. Yes but I also have no life so.....
  22. Just need to wire it up now
  23. In my basket already
