  1. Delighted to join the chorus of praise for this most excellent Basschatter. I have just concluded a transaction with him which was as smooth as a pint of Murphy's. Utterly bomb proof packaging, a more than fair price, instant response to any queries - I can't recommend him highly enough.
  2. Crappy low light pic of the rig in question As you can see the shape is very similar to the SVT, but not the controls.
  3. You need an edge on cab or head. Darnit
  4. I was in precisely this position once and it is a source of constant regret that I turned it down. Say yes, do it, and if you don't like it bail out.
  5. Got two Cort basses and they're both lovely, but this is a stunner.
  6. In short, it's an envelope filter. Here's the blurb: Envelope Filter — A colourful, resonant filter that follows and responds to your picking dynamics. Step Filter — A groovy, arpeggiated filter with fully adjustable steps. Manual Filter — Great for static tone shaping or sweep-able, wah-like effects using an expression pedal. Each of these modes offers 4 filter types: low-pass, band-pass, high-pass and peaking. Sweep range and resonance width are also adjustable, and on top of all of these, a dedicated mix knob allows blending of the wet and dry signals. This gives you total control of how much filtering effect is imparted on your guitar, bass or synth signal. Smart!
  7. Who can say? Maybe it was, but it has now become iconic
  8. Do Rotosound Nexus strings count? I've had a set on my black precision for a year now. Used them last night in fact. One string shows a tiny amount of wear otherwise the coating is fine. I use a mix of fingerstyle/pic about 90/10 in favour of fingerstyle. I find them so much kinder on the hands compared with other rounds. They don't tarnish, they sound and look great. Oh and I just checked to see when I bought them and noticed they're on offer on Amazon for 20 quid so I'm going to get me some more.
  9. Yep. Nothing like my SVT but still sounds great. Of course it's styled like that because that's a classic look for a bass amp. It certainly informed my decision to buy it.
  10. I have a couple of lightweight 15s need rehousing. However I don't know if this would go in my car.

B6 does so well in this area
  12. This is near the top of my list...

Good lord. Glad I read this before getting excited about these units. I mean, I already have both the SY-1 and the OC5, but that's not the point!
  14. For my money the best of the Trace Elliot range. So the best of the best!
  15. Interesting. I bought mine 'pre-loved' and they are most definitely 15" speakers. There are Barefaced experts here will put us straight I'm sure. Edit: https://barefacedbass.com/product-range/compact.htm
  16. I have two of the 15" (Compact?) and a 12" (Midget?) And use them in all imaginable configurations (except all of them together). Tonight the load in is harder so I've just bought one 15 and a lightweight Bugera head. Harley Benton bass tonight, (last night was a Sandberg) and guess what? It sounds awesome.
