    Boss GX-100

Good lord. Glad I read this before getting excited about these units. I mean, I already have both the SY-1 and the OC5, but that's not the point!
  2. For my money the best of the Trace Elliot range. So the best of the best!
  3. Interesting. I bought mine 'pre-loved' and they are most definitely 15" speakers. There are Barefaced experts here will put us straight I'm sure. Edit: https://barefacedbass.com/product-range/compact.htm
  4. I have two of the 15" (Compact?) and a 12" (Midget?) And use them in all imaginable configurations (except all of them together). Tonight the load in is harder so I've just bought one 15 and a lightweight Bugera head. Harley Benton bass tonight, (last night was a Sandberg) and guess what? It sounds awesome.
  5. After playing a thunderous set last night, through a Behringer amp cost me less than 100 quid, and having created a righteous racket in the past with amps badged from Bugera to Trace Elliot, Ashdown to Ampeg and Markbass, Orange, Eden et al, I think I've realised something rather splendid. Regardless of the head I choose, as long as I sit it on top of my Barefaced cabs it sounds massive, articulate and wonderful. I even rehearsed with a full band, using nothing more than a 50 watt Joyo head the size and weight of a small box of chocolates. Through a Barefaced cab. Guess what? Sounded awesome. It's so liberating to know that I can buy any bass head I like and it will sound not just good, but great. I'm sure there are other cabs out there, and that you have your own reasons to love them, but for me,when poverty comes, after everything else has been sold, I'll still have my three Barefaced cabs.
  6. Reverb is number one? Do people actually buy from it? I've never seen one affordable item there.
  7. Always wondered how a band would sound in a church! What an amazing experience.
  8. St Pat's night gig at the Blue Lagoon in Bristle lady night. I've played there before and it was steaming, expected great things, but it was oddly quiet. A few groups came in drank danced cheered then left. The venue didn't help by leaving the dance floor full of tables. Still, no complaints from me, a Thursday gig is free money.
  9. £550 for the 2x10 seems pretty reasonable. Assuming it really is loud enough to gig with. I'm definitely intrigued.
  10. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. I believe it's spelled as it sounds.
  11. If it was a rosewood fingerboard I'd have been in serious trouble.
  12. I voted no because I don't really care either way. What is needed however is a separate place for basses over, say, 750 quid.
  13. The op is spot on. I grind my teeth when I see overpriced basses justified because someone has changed some part or other It's just changed. Not improved. You may think it's better, but that's just your opinion.
  14. This is what Basschat is all about. However each handover should be photographed. It's in the rules.
  15. I only learned recently that Mr Moog couldn't pronounce his own surname. I shall not compound the error by changing the way I say it. See also Wal and Lakland.
  16. You can't let FB rats gnaw their way through this...
  17. This habit of answering questions before we have chance to show our superior knowledge by asking them must be stopped. It'll be the death of the forum.
  18. I took mine to a band practice (just to try it) and it was amazing how it kept up with the band
