Blue JJ arrived today. Plays as nicely as the PJ. Looks lovely. I'm really a P pick-up guy at heart, J pups seem a little gutless in comparison, but in a band context they often excel. Anyway another HB triumph.

Hilarious how even experienced musicians believe there is a right and a wrong way to get a bass sound. There is no such thing as the right bass sound. And therefore no right way to achieve it.

I loved Dire Straits. First three albums at least. But that wasn't my point. Popular had become bland, manufactured, and safe. Oasis and the rest of their ilk brought it back. It goes in phases, or at least it did. I don't know what popular music sounds like any more

Well, I use oasis as an example to signify the return of guitar pop rather than suggest they were the best band ever However compared to simply red they were genius

For me The 80s started really well, by 84 it had begun to be very slim pickings and almost nothing of note from 85 onwards. Music started again with Oasis. These are obviously broad brush strokes.

Looks great @mcnach Funnily enough, I'm getting the blue JJ with the white guard. Even though I believe tort is the absolute gold standard colour for a pickguard, it looks very wrong with the blue.

Well, I do have too many effects and not enough gigs, so really I ought to sell some. But no! Hands off! I still love my Plethora.

Gigged with it in memory mode on Saturday. I was bedeviled by the same problem I have whenever I use preprogrammed effects patches. No matter how assiduously I set them up at home, get on stage and there are glaring differences in volume between the patches, and what sounds amazing at home seldom sounds great live. Nothing wrong with the unit just my cack handed inability to program stuff properly.
