  1. The VT Bass uses the same (9volts) and only draws 100ma so they will both run off the same supply - but you'll need a daisy chain cable with minimum two plugs.
  2. Oof. This is on my list of most wanted basses. Come at the wrong time for me after 6 weeks and no work due to covid. Dayum.
  3. It sounds like a great pedal idea, just a little expensive for what it does. I'd almost certainly get one if it came up second hand.
  4. I've heard back from Raygun, they do test before despatch, a replacement is en route and a return being organised.
  5. Yeah, could be. It's different for many pedals. I believe some have a low cut and mid boost, but certainly not all
  6. Nice! I had the HX Stomp with the extra footswitch, but traded for the HX Effects. Poor eyesight made the tiny screen unreadable. I like to look down and see what each pedal is!
  7. I've not used that pedal, but I've stuck pedals into an Ampeg CL and not done any damage. My guess is it's that amp it emulates. I've resisted the pedal because I have the amp it emulates. But it's so reasonably priced it's a tough call
  8. The only weakness I can see is the lack of bass content. He did one show where the message was, stick a graphic after the pedal and boost the low end. But surely the low end isn't there to be boosted if the guitar pedal has sucked it out 🤔
  9. He's a brilliant broadcaster, obviously a complete pedal geek, and by featuring all pedals not just his own, has produced a wonderful show. I love his humour and the way he shares his knowledge. Not a half bad musician either.
  10. I saw the thread title and immediately thought, easy, 2 fifteens. Then I thought how much I love my old 8 ten cab. And I have an Ashdown set up with 2 twelves which is righteous. My regular gigging rig features a twelve and a fifteen. So I guess I just don't have a favourite
  11. Makes sense. Mine came with an 18v PSU so it's all good
  12. It's an envelope filter into a phaser. Only two controls and a choice of upsweep or down. It sounds absolutely amazing. I never knew an envelope needed a phaser. It's like going through life eating chips with neither salt nor vinegar on them. What a revelation. Easily smashing its way into my top 3 ever pedals, the moment I tried it. I do have a question however. The power socket is labelled 9 - 18v. After literally minutes of extensive research, I found a video where Josh wotsit off JHS, said it made little or no difference which I used. He said some people claim it makes a difference, but really it doesn't. He wasn't on about this pedal mind you, just the whole 9 to 18v thing. Now here's the thing. My pedal works beautifully with 18v, with 9v the light comes on but nobody's home, it doesn't affect the sound at all, with 12v nothing happens, the light doesn't even come on. My question, in a nutshell, is this. What gives?
  13. Was thinking of selling mine, but they're so cheap it wouldn't raise enough money to buy anything else, and reading this thread, seeing they're discontinued, I think I'll hang on to it. You never know when it might be handy.
  14. I have tried to build different 'scenes' or 'boards' or 'presets', but it's a heck of a lot of work and counter intuitive to me. Balancing volume levels over a sets worth of such patches never works and takes me longer than playing the gig! So this, to me, isn't a couple of multi effects it's a parallel effects board made up of 11 pedals. You count 12? Well, there is an envelope filter beneath the Boss LS2, it's in the FX loop of the Plethora, and the Byte synth is in an effects loop of the HX FX. By setting up as individual pedals I can see what's what, make adjustments quickly and easily, and just kick in what I need and when. It also leaves me free to improvise effect combinations as the fancy takes me. I run the two in separate loops via the LS2, because it's quick and easy to balance the outputs of the two multi effects, and I love the way certain effects interact in parallel. I also like others to run into each other so choosing what goes where has been fun. Anyway, if like me you get frustrated with multi effects capable of reproducing hundreds of individual pedals, always thinking you ought to somehow use them all, I recommend this. Imagine it's a shop, choose the pedals you want, 'buy' them, set them up and enjoy them. Forget all the others until you fancy something new. Then enter the virtual shop and voila!
  15. I used my pick on a couple of tunes at my most recent gig. As a dyed in the wool finger player I was astonished at how it brought the bass to life. It was like a restring.
  16. It was the Soda Drive. Didn't want to name names, as a small company could do without negative publicity. However I don't judge people on faulty gear, it's about how they respond to the problem.
  17. New pedal arrived today and other than kill all the sound it does nothing at all. No it's not supposed to do that. The light comes on, the sound goes off. Obviously I've contacted the company so they can hopefully tell me what I'm doing wrong, but really, how much can you do wrong with a pedal?
  18. Bought a pedal from Dave, a totally painless transaction, swiftly concluded, well packed and as described. I happily recommend this most excellent Basschatter.
  19. I had a pedal made for me by Bad Penny FX . They're down in the south coast, out east...
  20. Just seen it on eBay for 95 so guessing it's becoming more widely available. Anyone got one yet?
