1.
I have some of these, they're brilliant. I used them with IEMs and as long as you can get a good seal from buds (the yellow foam are the best IMHO) they reprodce the bass very well. They are phenomenal on a decent mp3 player too!
Thanks for the kind words Pete and a big +1 from me on those points.
2. John responded to my Wanted thread and came up with the goods and at a good price. Also it was a fast and smooth transaction so what more can you ask for. Many thanks, Jon
3. Totally not my thing but have a 'bump' for a top man and a top bass. Someone would get a cracker here.
4. I think the method is this: (Item Price+Shipping) +3.7% Import Duty +17.5% VAT + Any shipping company charges. Each percentage is worked out at each stage of the calculation.
5. Very nice Clarky, Well done Mate. By the way I've got incurable Sid-alike GAS again!
6.
Are there replacements that slot right in? with no extra drilling
Good question and I don't think so, that's what put me off looking any further. Those tuners are rock solid so wasn't fussed!
7.
Apart from black tuners that is EXACTLY what a P should look like...! Nice one JTB this really should be snapped up!
Thanks Burpster - I did think about getting some black tuners but didn't bother in the end!
8.
i cant stop staring at this. if my JC was sold I would snap this up dude.
The P/J ain't sold yet so you never know!!!
9. Bit of an update on this subject - I ordered a SD Custom Shop 'Hot Stack for Single Coil P Bass' and had it installed into my Bravewood 50's RI P bass... It provides a nice punchy, full sound with no hum while looking like a perfectly innocent single coilos P bass pickup! Cheers, JTB
10. Show off!
Hmm, wonder how much mine would cost today then? The first fretless "Jaco" bass John ever built? :brow:
11.
Are the controls just vol vol, or vol tone?
HI BassKS, It's Volume - Volume controls. I think it's begging for stacked Vol/Tone pots though! Cheers, Jon
12. Hi All, *** NOW SOLD *** It's a 1995 made Fender USA Precision bass with original hard case and accessories. The mods to it are: Jazz Bass bridge pickup added. Wired with a Volume control for each pickup and no tone control. Routing, shielding and re-wiring done by The Gallery (receipt included), Jazz pickup is a Seymour Duncan STK-J2B Hot Stack for Jazz Bass, Precision pickup is a Seymour Duncan SPB-3 Quarter Pounder, Black Badass 3 bridge added (original included), Black/White/Black Pickgaurd put on. There are a few dings on it - A few on the headstock end and one on the back cut away. See the pictures of this below. There's also some signs of play wear but nothing bad. The only negative point I want to make about it is this - The back of the neck has laquer cracking on it along the playing area. Martin at The Gallery said it's only the laquer that's cracked and not the wood. It is fine to play and has got no worse since I've owned it (2006). It sounds just great and is a joy to play with the action set medium low.
13. Hold on, what's that funny short scaled 6 string bass..... oh no it's a, a GUITAR Only kidding, I have a few myself and do like a bit of riffing now and again! Nice collection. Cheers, JTB
14. Typical I'm at a loose end and I only see your thread at 21.29.... Break a leg Clarky ATB, Jon
15.
If it feels completely smooth and there are no sticky patches wouldn't bother me Is this your black P/j Jon? Can't imagine you would have any trouble selling that one
It is completely smooth to play, just looks cr@p! This is indeed the black P/J Clarky and only thinking about it at the moment.
16. Hello, Please have a look at the attached picture. The neck was like this when I bought the bass ('95 Fender USA Precision) back in '06. I had it set up at The Gallery and while there I got Martin to take a look and he pretty much immediately said it's just a laquer issue and not a wood one. Have you seen anything like this before? I'm tempted to wet & dry it to see if it clears it up/off but more importantly I'm thinking about selling the bass and would it put potential buyers (i.e. you) off as it is? Let me kow your thoughts and suggestions, Cheers, Jon
17. I have a Lakland USA Bog Glaub and IMO and experience it is a notch up in all areas over a Fender.
18. Wow, just, wow. If I had the dough I'd be up for it! Have a look here ATB, JTB!
19. Nice one Cap'n! Great video
