1. Nice looker but do you think it's the real McCoy? Link Here Cheers, JTB
2. Hi All, Now sold. Thanks. Selling these due to not going onto in-ear monitoring as planned and they're just sitting around now. They are new and sealed in the original packaging. The set includes a 'clam shell' zip up carrying case, a 'fit kit' of different size and shape sleeves/buds and a wax removal tool for the earphones! These are the industry standard and work well with iPods, etc too.
3. Well done that man and I'm very jealous, what a gig to win! Good luck and show 'em how to do it. Cheers, Jon

7. ooh, Rosewood for me Clarky!
8. I'm adding a big +1 with Clarky on this one. I owned Clarky's fabled 'Sid' 70ri P for a while and after a complete electronics change it was better but not the same as my USA P's. My thoughts are if you splash out on a CIJ/MIJ bass, then over time upgrade the electronics and buy a case at some point then you're either at the same price point, or beyond, a USA model. Regards, JTB
9. Hi WoT - Lovely collection there! Aside from your Fretless P being exactly that, how does a P sound with an Ebony board compare to the usual Rosewood? Cheers, Jon
10. No expense spared - Sennheiser G3
11. Just seen this myself. Do you think he 'sent the boys round' or 'splashed the cash'
12.
Thats nice looking, would love one of his 55P's in sunburst or blonde
Steady Clarky, I can hear the GAS rising from here!!!
13.
When a bass head is rated as 240 watts @ 8 ohms, and 350 watts @ 4 ohms, can some one explain what this means please? For example, if I've got a cab with a power handling rating that says 500 watts, what am I getting from the amp?
If your 500 Watt cab is rated at 8 ohms then your amp will put out 240 Watts at full volume and, you guessed it, If your cab is rated a 4 ohms it'll put out 350 Watts at full volume. Have a look at the Wiki at the top of the page for loads more info. Cheers, Jon

17. Hello All, Back in 2000/2001 my band recorded an EP on a MAC based Protools rig that was backed up/saved to 4 CD-R's and handed over to us at the end of the session. On the back of the each sleeve the Guy wrote - Retrospect backup disc 1/2/3/4 When I put the first disc in my MAC it doesn't even recognize the CD-R at all just asking to ignore or eject the CD. I found and downloaded Retrospect for MAC but just don't know what to do with it to see if it'll read the CD-R's. It certainly doesn't seem to be obvious. Is there a way to read the discs and open the files to get the audio tracks out do you know? Any BC'ers in London that may be able to extract the audio files/tracks for me to load into Logic? Any help much appreciated, Cheers, Jon. I
18. Hi Chris, For me, on a P, would like to see: Graphite reinforced neck, Flatter 'board radius (9.5 - 10"), Lighter weight modern tuners, Easy truss rod access in the form of a bigger channel routed in the body (Lakland style), Through body stringing bridge with top load option (Badass 3/Fender HMV), Slightly hotter p'up, Quality Passive electronics. Cheers, Jon edit: Spelling!
19. Very nice Clarky. I'm interested in the difference in sound to the Wizard and the Dimarzio if you feel like sharing
20.
sorry, ive caused a misunderstanding there,i want the in ear monitoring for playing bass not drums. The drummer comment was just so you all knew i was borderline caveman and didnt use words of more than two syllables to describe stuff!
Very good! I suppose the old addage of 'You get what you pay for' will apply here. Good luck on your quest, JTB
21.
Ive been thinking about going down this route for monitoring, just how expensive is it? I know absolutely nothing about wireless systems and have no idea what the costs would be for any of it whether it be low end or high end with ear moulds etc. how does it all work, keep it simple please...i am a drummer remember!
Maybe for drums you could use a cabled in ear system? The theory being you're static on stage so wouldn't need the expense and potential headaches that go with wireless gear. A simple headphone amp with your earphones and fed from the monitor mixer should do it... Jon
22. Just seen this: Coda-Music Scroll down the list to find it all. Awesome! ATB, Jon
23.
Can it be used as an audio interface to hook up to logic/protools do you think?
It can with a Presonus V-Fire. Unfortunately that's not made either now but there are some on eBay. That unit converts the digital R-Bus 8 channel output to Firewire. edit:Presonus found on eBay!
24. Price? Weight? Nut width?
25. Don't know how to play it but what a song! Been playing Staring At The Rude Boys for a while now and that's another good 'un IMO. Cheers, JTB
