2. On the cab front, what about the Barefaced Big One for price and performance? And on the amp front I'm thinking about a lighter amp myself and am facing the same dilema as you. I'm fancying the GB Shuttle 6.0 at this moment in time but I keep looking at 2 rack unit size amp heads i.e. GK RB700/1001, Thunderfunk, Aguilar AG500-SC, Ampeg SVT-3, etc. There's just so much choice out there. I have been recommended the GK amp heads from a few different people I must say. Good luck and let us know what you go for in the end. JTB.
3. What about the Gallery?
4.
...told that a soldering iron run along the split will re-seal the plastic.
Not knocking the repair hint but that is no good for your soldering iron tip!
5. I've used a VBA and their new 4x12" a few times at a rehearsal complex (Survival Studios anyone?) and have never been impressed with the sound with any of my basses through it. As pointed out earlier it's totally a horses for courses situation but IMO Marshall's bass amps are a poor effort considering they do so well with their guitar amps. JTB
6. The infamous bass drum mic question! My choice is the Shure Beta52 and a Shure SM57 together. I would also D.I the bass aswell as the POD just to have the variety of sounds available at the mix point, if there's enough inputs to allow this on the desk. Good luck, Jon.
7. Any pictures? Where are you based, any chance of a collection? Cheers, JTB
8. Clucking bell! What a deal, what cabs.
9. A EBMM 3eq Stingray and an Ampeg SVT2 on a Ampeg 8x10" for me.
10. No more Quarter Pounders, I promise!

Mr. Foxen

Sold a pickup to Oli and he was quick and painless to deal with and had great comm's. Thanks and enjoy, Jon.
12. As ever it's how much you can spend. I would highly recommend the Sennheiser EW100 instrument set if you can splash out. JTB
13.
I would have thought the appeal came from the fact that it's an accessible way to owning a 'vintage style' instrument. Far easier and more affordable to buy a reliced bass than it is to buy a real vintage instrument. Of course, it's not the same, but an acceptable compromise for many people. I don't think it's necessarily about fashion (although for some it may be), but more about coming close to owning something that would otherwise be out of reach.
+1 to this. I can only dream of owning a '51 - '56 P bass, but a Custom Shop Relic is probably the only way I could get even close.
14. Thanks for a fast and painless deal Stevie. Enjoy the pickup! Jon.
15. Never assume! I would hope that price would cover transmitters, lapel mics, receivers and aerials but well worth checking out to make sure.
16. What about hiring a decent pair? Also be aware of P.A. volume and feedback issues with lapel mic's - it can be awkward to get the levels you need.
17.
...Was wondering if the EQ was versatile enough for use with only a power amp....
Never tried it myself, but no reason why not, especially with the XLR D.I. out... One would probably need to put it on the amp to have the Volume, Bass & Treble controls easily adjustable though.
18. err, No. Sid Vicious only in looks, not the lifestyle or playing style that goes with it JTB
19. Got mine hooked up to a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+ and it works perfectly. JTB
20. Thanks for the smooth deal Nick and enjoy the kit! A great Basschatter to do business with. Cheers, Jon.
21. How about the Seymour Duncan Classic Stacks? They have that zing you talk about and are hum-cancelling units aswell. I have them in my Shuker Jazz and can't recommend them highly enough. JTB
22. Update BUMP
23.
I'll take the P ones for £25 +post if he wants the jazz for similar.
OK then. I've PM'd Stevie so will let you know what's happening ASAP. Cheers, Jon.
24.
I'll have the Jazz off you. Which should make it easier for you to sell the Precision, I'd think. Stevie
Make me an offer! PM'd
25. All sold. Thanks Guys.
