Duuuuude! That looks amazing!
It sounds pretty damn good too! Also I think it was your 5 stringer I saw being worked on. Is it the one with the (to be) backlit Shuker logo? -
oooh - what the age & spec of that lovely looking white P bass you have there?
Sensible words indeed...+1 I would accept a "tour agreement" but "band agreements" aren't very rock n roll
I hear you. Surely it just depends on what the situation with the band, doesn't it? Look at what Shockwave said. A hell of a lot that goes with bands ain't rock n roll. As Cantdosleepy said if it's a regular gigging band a bit of formality and firming up between those concerned won't hurt will it? -

I think this is a good case to show that having a written 'Band Agreement' in place to cover such eventualities is worth it's weight in gold. The exact same happened to me. I just put my notice in as per the agreement (2 months if I remember correctly) and there was no arguing because we all agreed the terms up front in the beginning. -
Nice one dude, well chuffed for you. Don't suppose you saw an all black jazz bass with a mahogany/wenge neck down there when you popped in? Ain't heard anything from Jon for a while, but I promised I wouldn't badger him this time, made a real pest of myself when he was building my single-cut... Cheers, Eude
HI Eude, I did see a black jazz body hanging up...no neck attached though. There wasn't many instruments complete but there are necks and bodies everywhere! Watched Rob start to shape the heel of a 5 string neck through bass which was good. Jon. -

Cheers Eude! It sounds immense! In all seriousness it is bright and punchy as you would expect a swamp asn 'n' Maple Jazz to be. Those SD Classic Stacks are the nuts!!! -

So, It's been a while and there was a fair amount of time when there was no word from Mr. Shuker (workshop move, etc) I spoke with him a few times via e-mail but not much more. Then not long ago I received these: This REALLY got me going I couldn't wait to collect her... So today I did! Got to have a good chat with Jon and have a look at his workshop and try out some of his other wonderful instruments. I've not long been back but here's a few tasters for you Folks, Enjoy: For the eagle eyed among you - Apparently the E string was too short ( ) to go through the body so is through the bridge, until it needs replacing. It's been a long wait, but it's here at last. Will get more pictures and a review on here within time, Cheers, Jon. -
I really like the bass sound, playing & general production on the 1995 album Slash's Snakepit - It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere. It's Mike Inez from Alice In Chains on it and I rather like it!

Charging other bass players to use my rig when im not using it.
Noisyjon replied to dave_bass5's topic in General Discussion
Sometimes the simple rule of thumb in the equipment hire market is 1 per cent of the purchase cost per hire. i.e. £2,000 rig = £20 per day. Any good? -
I reckon they done it just to wind us all up!!!

I like, and recommend, the Sadowsky pedal type preamp if that suits?

+1 for the black guard from me too...
OK, I hot footed it down to the studio and grabbed these few pics of the P Bass, just for you! I always wanted a bass that was born in the same year as me - hence the 1961. Quite hard to find these days, so I was surprised when I found this one at The Bass Gallery in London. I was even more surprised when my fabulous wife bought it for me It's basically all original apart from the Volume and Tone Knobs - one was missing and the other was pretty well shot, so I got a couple of replacements (I still have the remaining original one of course!) The other non-original part is the thumb rest, it was missing. I found a good quality replica, fortunately the original screws were still in the pickguard so it all ties in nicely. Other than that it has real mojo and sounds PHAT. Enjoy.
WOW That is beautiful. Thanks for putting the pictures up for us all here. I'm very jealous!!!
What about Norman Watt-Roy...?
Definitely. Also how about John "Segs" Jennings from The Ruts. Some awesome bass playing there.
