1.
Hi Jon, It's been resprayed. In pic 7 you can see the paint filled screw holes by the bridge. In pic 6 the machine head screw slots look like they've been moved a few times and the G machine head post screw doesn't match with the D machine head post screw. The D bridge saddle screw isn't original. For an "original" bass there are too many questions. I wouldn't buy it.
Hi Chris, Just read what you and all the Guys here are saying and had another good look at the pic's... Am going to pass on this one! I don't think I could shell out without trying it anyway. Thanks & Cheers, Jon
2.
The pickguard and case aren't original - the correct guard was probably black. Lord knows what's going on with the D screw on the bridge... it's a bit long! The tuners and serial number seem to be correct. As for value... £750 is high-to-reasonable if it's a great player. The BIN is the dictionary definition of 'optimism', IMO.
Nice one WoT. I knew the 'guard and case aren't original but thanks for eye-balling the rest of it for me. Jon
3. My £0.02 worth... I've used Behringer amps & cabs at my local rehearsal rooms for a couple of years now. The rooms are usually set up with a Behringer amp and 2 x 1x15 Behringer cabs. They get pummeled 12 hours a day/7 days a week and seem to be holding up OK and sound alright.
4. Hello Folks, What do you reckon to this - '76 P on t'Bay I am VERY interested but don't know enough about 70's Fenders to know whether it would be a worthwhile buy... Wot d'ya reckon?! Thoughts please, Cheers, Jon.
5. Mint condition guitar with original black tolex deluxe case and accessories, as pictured - the original pickguard sticky back plastic with the Hendrix sticker is still on it! Bought as a collectors piece and only ever occasionally tuned, strummed and cleaned it at home. It all works perfectly and is a fantastic playing and sounding guitar. NOW SOLD, THANKS FOR LOOKING.
6. Top stuff Alien, I'm well impressed with this project. Rock on!
7. That's a beaut! Hope your guitarist likes it.
8. I see Seymour Duncan do one as part of the Custom Shop range too, see this link
9. Hi All, First up aplogies if this has (undoubtably) been asked somewhere else before. I have seen Lollar do a split coil model that fits in the single coil space on the Fender '51 P basses but can you tell me who else makes such a beastie? Also anyone heard/own one - sounds? Cheers, Jon.
10. So, Another few pictures for you all to see... I am pleased it's looking so good. Can't wait to get my hands on it and play it through the big amp!!! Jon did say that some of the grain effect has been lost with the flash but assures me it is looking more pronounced. And the neck is flaming good too Until the next time, Cheers
11. Hi Chris, Nice cabs and have a BUMP on me! Cheers, Jon

14. Nice one SF! It's makes it look completely different. Rock and indeed Roll!!!

19.
Tempted. Don't spose you ever bought a black pickguard for it, did you?
'fraid not Stingrayfan. Was toying with putting a red tort on it but never got round to it.
20.
PM'd
PM replied to, ta!
21.
Hi Jon, Nice P Bass. Do you still have the original p'ups? Can you PM me re expected price now? Would be prepared to pay the extra for secure couriering as the distance is a bit far. Thanks, Nick S
Hi Nick, I had the J bridge put in so there is no other p'up for that one. As for the original Fender p pickup, I can't find it at the moment and I'm not sure I even took it back after the work As for the couriering - I'm loathed to do it (how many horror stories?!) but if we can find a way that we're both happy with then why not! Let me know your thoughts on it. Cheers, Jon.
22. Price lowering bump! Come on peeps this one's a cracker. It was the one at the Bass Bash.
