  1. Clearly you haven’t played an ACG. If you had you would know how good they are. I too own a Cort bass and I know how good it is but I also own an ACG and it is many times better than the Cort.
  2. In the process of updating now, all going well. I’m having to step up from 1.06.5
  3. Having problems installing 2.30 but that seems to be common place judging by other fora. Rainy day today so plenty of opportunity to have a go at it.
  4. Ehm, yes.
  5. Ah well. Just been and gone and bought one today. Where the hell do I start?
  6. The manual doesn’t seem to suggest it can. At least I can slot the slow engine in a send/return.
  7. Can any of you gents tell me if the Helix is able to do auto volume/swell in the way that Mooer Slow Engine/ Boss Slow Gear does?
  8. Thanks for listening. I like your description of how you play around with synths
  9. This is a bit of an experiment so has lots of bits I would do differently a second time. I decided I wanted to do a piece without working too much of it out beforehand. This was largely improvised and it shows. Steve Lawson once commented that if you want to learn to improvise you have to start somewhere. The more you do it the better you get. Well this is my start. Bit like improvising on any instrument, you have to know it back to front and inside out. Same applies when using effects. I'd like to get away from just big pad chords so have to learn the extent of all the effects pedals. You can only do that by experimenting. Here's my first experiment. It's really a bit too long. See what you think.
  10. The link below goes some way to supporting Dad3353's comments. So many artists and composers through history have died penniless but today we see them as major contributers and influences in their field. http://mentalfloss.com/article/28010/10-cultural-giants-who-died-coinless
  11. Beat me to it but this is of course a gratuitous attempt to get my name in on a post. IIRC I think the original Stingrays were shipped with flats so it was an intended tone.

  13. I think these steam engines on’t railways are dreadful things. It were far better when we just had horse and cart. Life were just so much better.
  14. The words "used to" are the operative words here. That was in the past and in case you haven't noticed the world has moved on quite a way since the 1970s. All that matters is that kids play music. It doesn't matter a hoot where their inspiration comes from. The generation gap can hold a great deal back. Things change and we all have to accept that.
  15. "Me too"! "You'll just have to wait" "I can't wait! I want one noowww"!
  16. I'd imagine so. Split the signal into stereo, apply a parametric EQ to each side (top end one side, bottom end other) then route each to the right and left outputs and into separate amps. Yes/no anyone?
  17. Never thought I'd like a Warwick but it looks so much better as a headless.
  18. Thanks. Sonic Youth are a blast from the past
  19. As above on quality and sound and everything else. I have four of them, S2 fretless 4, S3 fretted 5, S2000 and Electro 2. All wonderful instruments. The necks are to die for in my opinion. That's what first attracted me to them. Love the shape and feel. The profile on current Status necks is very different to the original Series II/Series 2000. Neck thrus are noted to have quite a bright sparkly tone with bolt-ons having a slightly warmer tone, as told by Mr. Green himself. Difference in sustain between the two is negligible. The Stealth is a different beast again. Moulded graphite with a rigid foam centre. I believe they have a very sparkly tone. They are great instruments and you can buy with confidence. Few regret their purchase and those that do probably can't see past something beginning with F.
  20. Mr. Smug with 100%. Kim Gordon nearly caught me out so just guessed. Still don't know who she is or who she plays with. Someone enlighten me.
  21. ...and sometimes some people take the internet a little too seriously. These things come up on our recommendations cause click on them. If we didn't click on them YouTube's algorithm would soon give us many other recommendations. That guy seldom comes up on mine but he will now that I have looked at him once. He's good at what he does and a lot of people watch him. He must be doing something right.
  22. The OP wrote about wanting better quality pickups in favour of fancy top wood. Well, I can say my Status and Overwater basses have both. Mind you they did cost a bit more than £500. I think they are worth every penny. It is always down to personal taste and who am I to say it's wrong to love a painted Fender. 80% of players can't be wrong. While I love my fancy topped basses there is also something quite special about a plain ash bodied bass. Just the simple clean lines of them look so good.
  23. Looking at that list Monty Python's "What have the Romans ever given us" comes to mind.
