1. I wish he would do more instrumental tunes. They were always the best bits from the past. I remember an interview talking of Dik Cadbury suggesting the dropping of lyrics on a couple of instrumentals cause they worked far better without words. I'm sure Spectral Mornings was one of them. Very individual player, no one else like him.
2. When you change strings you should always check the setup. Particularly when you change types. Don't be afraid of adjustments to a bass. There are loads of good videos on youtube that will help you. Jason from Fodera has just put up a series of very useful videos on the subject. If you are taking the strings off altogether then you can't really avoid having to check setup. Setup changes with climate conditions and your playing so should be checked and adjusted as a matter of course. http://youtu.be/Jvm_DT0GHIM
3. Yet another happy customer here. Just had Harry's Pedaltrain delivered. Great guy to deal with and packed very efficiently. Dal with confidence.
4.
Here's mine! Made by a friend of mine...
Ouch! I wish I had a friend like that. Quite splendid!
5. You could check on manufacturers websites what the milliamps are for each pedal. The milliamps might also be detailed somewhere on the pedal. That's almost more important than the voltage. Most, but not all, are 9v but the milliamps vary. Add up the total milliamps and that will let you know what power supply to look for. Isolated outputs will give you least noise but these boxes tend to be more expensive.
6. Status do a wide strap in two lengths, a Mark King height one and a 'punk' length one, ie. round your knees. I would say get some professional advice from someone like an osteopath. He/she can tell you what's wrong, manipulate the joints and let you know how to avoid it in the future. There have been a couple of other similar threads recently with lots of good advice as will appear here.
7. You could try scrolling to the very bottom of any page and you will see two buttons, Click on "Full Version" and that will bring up the page as you see it on a PC. Much easier to navigate as you want to from there.
8. Any progress with this?
9. Yup! I have had labella nylon flats on my Status Electro, Roto nylons at the moment. Just a dream to play and a beautiful velvety tone.
10.
Hello fellow Northumbrian! I'm using a TC Electronic Hall of Fame Mini, TC Electronic Ditto Looper, Behringer BOD400 and a TC Electronic BodyRez for the acoustic. Not much but it does the job
I've only heard the Body Rez on you tube but it sounds like a useful bit of kit.
11. I do like the fretless. I have one that I had rebuilt some years ago. As you say, plays like butter.
12. Welcome on board,Wot, from another in Northumberland. Well nearly. About one mile from the border, on the right side of course near Berwick. What effects are you using?
13. Cort Action V DLX. Mine cost me £250 new. Lovely neck and sounds good too. I don't think it has a real figured top though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86BKil3CEcc
14. Bargain of the year so far. Great little fx units and even better at this price. Someone snap it up.
15. Touring bands play largely the same set every night of a tour. If someone goes to see them twice on that tour they will see much the same music played. I would say five weeks is not too soon to play the same set. Go for it.
16. My bad too on gender of OP. I follow Mykesbass on rephrasing. Problems like this at 19 will only get worse as you get older if not dealt with now. That might make me sound old but bad posture and working practice leaves me having to see an osteopath every three months to stop my back going into spasm.
17. Further to Coilte's post about left hand technique, Scott Devine has a useful video on strap height. http://youtu.be/mqx5Bry2aYE
18. I would seek some professional advice on this, either/or GP or an osteopath. There will be plenty of useful advice on here which might help. Osteopaths can manipulate joints which can help release trapped nerves which might or might not be causing your problem. Most of all get some help and don't be a bloke and just "man it out". That might only allow it to get worse.
19. Ooooh! That might be worth seeing.

21.
Statuseseses with heads on are just wrong.
Quite right son, yer not wrong. The headless system is just so logical. In the time it takes to change one string on a F****r you have all the strings changed and tuned on a headless Status.
22. Find an osteopath. He/she will manipulate muscles and joints to free up anything might be getting trapped.
23. This is "getting on like a house on fire"? I'd hate to think what things would be like if you hated each other.
24. Been doing a bit of measuring for you. My Status S2000 has the same bridge piece as your Washburn. The string spacing at the bridge measures at 17mm whereas my Hohner measures at 18mm. I presume the Hohner and your Steinberger have the same bridge/tuner system. Most Status 5ers have 18mm spacing unless otherwise specified by original purchaser or you if you buy new. Headless Status basses use the mono rail tuners so a new bass can have any spacing you want for a small extra charge. I have seen some older Status fivers, like Empathys, with 16mm spacing. They use the same kind of bridge/tuning system to your Washburn but fitted for five strings. Hope that's of some use.
